Trouble in paradise

I smile at Gauge who is turning on my favorite movie, The Breakfast Club. He comes back to my couch and sits down handing me the Chinese take out we've just ordered. It's just the perfect end to a perfect date. "So did you have fun?" Gauge says looking at me. "Of course I did thank you again for all of this." I smile back at him grabbing his hand in mine. We finish eating our Chinese and cuddle while we watch the rest of the movie. I feel my eyes grow heavy and I'm out before I know it.

      I wake up and Gauge is gone. I get up noticing he's already thrown out all the trash and turned the tv off. I check my phone to see a text from him reading: "I had a meeting I'll call you later 🖤". It was just then when I realized I had no idea what he did for work. A meeting for what? I didn't even follow this guy on instagram. I quickly open the Instagram app and try typing in his name however his last name didn't pop up. I typed in Gauge and a ton of hashtags popped up. "What is heir.of.atticus?" I read to myself as I clicked on what seemed to be a profile of Gauge. Holy shit he had almost 400k followers on Instagram?? I scroll through the pictures noticing many girls commenting thirst traps. I try my best to ignore it and scroll back to his bio where a link for tiktok is. What the hell is tiktok?? I'm even more surprised to find he has over 1 million followers on here?? Is he famous? I watch some of his videos finding myself smiling at my phone. I quickly ex out of the apps and take a shower to think some things over. Why didn't he tell me any of this? Why didn't he want me to know did he think i would use him? I try my best not to be angry but i can't say I'm not a little annoyed. I mean you think you know someone and then you find out they're internet famous??

"Hello" I sigh. "Hello gorgeous" i can feel Gauges smile through the phone. "How was your meeting? What was it for?" I say a little too quickly mentally kicking myself for acting suspicious. "I actually wanted to talk to you about that can you come over?" He says a little nervously. "Sure let me get dressed be there in 10" i say hanging up before giving him a chance to answer. I don't know why I'm so annoyed but I am. I change and head over to Gauges letting myself in when I get there. "Hey" he comes over giving me a sweet kiss. "Hello" i say back. "So you're famous huh?" I laugh to cover how annoyed I am. "Not technically but yes I do have a good amount of followers on this app called tiktok. I didn't want you to think any differently of me I've been played for clout before and it doesn't feel good I just wanted to make sure this was real before I told you." He says running a hand through his hair. I take a moment to think of what to say next. "And how long did that take you? All the way till now? We've been seeing each other for 2 months now being together almost every day Gauge! I mean I thought I knew you I have been nothing but honest with you about everything. For the first time I have actually opened up to someone completely and then I find out you were hiding something from me the whole time! I don't care if you're famous I don't care if you have girls drooling all over you but I do care that you kept this from me for so long." I say a tear escaping my eye. I quickly wipe it away I'm used to not showing emotions. "I know Star and it just wasn't something that ever crossed my mind when I was with you. I never thought of it because you take my mind off everything anytime we're together you're all I think about." He says grabbing my hands in his. "So what am I just an escape from your famous life? Are you even who you seem to be around me or are you completely different around anyone else?" I say getting more frustrated. "Why are you freaking out so much damn Star! I'm the same person. And no I didn't think you were after clout but you never know!" He says getting defensive now. "I'm gonna go. I just need time for myself right now. Like I said it's annoying because I've been telling you absolutely everything about me and you've been hiding this huge secret. I just don't understand why you couldn't have told me sooner." I say pecking him on the check before walking out of his apartment and into the rainy New York streets. I get back to my apartment and immediately lay down on my bed that now smells like Gauge considering how much he stays over. I let a few years escape before falling into a deep sleep.
