Real Date

I walk out of my apartment building with a cool New York breeze hitting me straight away. I pull my jacket closer and walk the block to Gauges building. Once I'm at his door I let myself in like I have been doing the past month now nearly everyday. "Hey hottie" I hear his angelic voice ring through my ears. "Hello" I say trying to hide the crimson blush making its way to my cheeks. We've been flirty obviously but lately I've been getting that butterfly petting zoo feeling in your stomach feeling anytime Gauge even looks at me let alone compliments me. I walk over to him kissing both of his cheeks while he does the same to me. "What do you wanna do today?" He asks while turning to the kitchen. "Oh I don't know we could watch a movie and order in" I suggest. "When are you gonna let me take you on a real date?" He's now back in the living room walking dangerously close to me. "A what?" I ask a little surprised by his question. " a real date. You know you get dressed up, I get dressed up, and we go out somewhere and we're actually seen together?" He emphasizes 'actually' raising his eyebrows. "Uh I don't know?" I say very quietly. "I didn't know you wanted to take me on a real date" I say even quieter, more to myself than to him. "You didn't know I wanted to take you on a real date? Star you've been on my mind ever since I met you. No matter how much I see you or how many times we fuck I cannot get you out of my head. I told you I wanted more the night we met and here we are a month later still doing the bare minimum and calling it quits. I don't want someone else to come along offering you something that we don't have right now just give me a chance" Gauge sighs letting out a frustrated breathe looking up at me. "Please let me take you out and if it doesn't scare you enough can we just try to be something more?" He says softer now taking his hand underneath my chin and rubbing small circles on my cheek. "Okay.. when?" I say unsure. "Tonight. I'll pick you up in 2 hours go get ready!" He smiles widely pecking my face all over with small sweet kisses. I smile at his excitement. "We'll go!" He says half hugging me half pushing me out the door. "Okay okay well what should I wear??" I laugh. "I'll let you know if I think of anything." Gauge says quickly before kissing me on the lips and pushing me out of his door and closing it. Well I guess I'm going on a real date.

"Hey Siri, call Ashley" i say through my headphones as I walk to a coffee shop before going home. "Hey bitch what's up?" I hear Ashley's voice ring through my headphones. "Nothing just getting ready to go home and get ready for a date." I say nonchalantly. "A date???? What about Gauge y'all would be hella cute don't fuck it up Chloe!" Ashley yells. "Ashley chill its with Gauge. He asked me to go on a real date with him." I smile remembering how excited he was. "OH MY GOD YES IM SO EXCITED WHAT ARE YOU DOING WHAT ARE YOU GONNA WEAR?!!" Ashley screams. I laugh before answering "I don't know jeans and a body suit and boots it's not gonna be anything fancy Ashley" "okay that'll be cute. I have to go i have class but call me and tell me everything!!" Ashley says goodbye and I smile to the barista handing me my coffee before walking out of the cafe and to my apartment.

I open my door to see a very smiley Gauge. "Hey beautiful" he smiles pulling in for a kiss. "Hey handsome" I smile feeling warm inside. Just seeing him makes me happy. "Ready to go?" He asks. "Of course. Can you tell me where we're going yet?" I tease. "Nope. You'll see when we get there" he smiles leading me outside and hailing a taxi. After about 10 minutes we arrive at Central Park where he leads me to a less busy spot. My breathe catches in my chest when I see a blanket, flowers and a picnic basket all laid out. He did this all for me? And in such short time? I only notice I've stopped walking when Gauge touches my arm and takes his other hand to wipe the single tear that has escaped my eye. "You did this all for me?" I say barely above a whisper. "Yes don't you love it? Look I got you roses and sunflowers!" He says obviously feeling proud of himself. I smile taking them from him. "I love them. I love all of this. I can't believe you did this" I smile pulling him in for a hug resting my head on his chest. I hold the hug for as long as I can enjoying every second. "Ready to eat? I also got your favorite wine so we can get wine tipsy and go watch movies after this" he smiles holding up the wine. "You're the best" I smile at him feeling things I've never felt before. I feel happy and loved and appreciated and most of all I feel seen. I feel like Gauge sees me for who I am and not just a body to fuck and leave. And I feel like I love spending time with him and for the first time I'm letting myself feel these things. I'm not going to chicken out or freak. I'm going to give Gauge a fair chance and I cannot wait to see where it goes.
