just a warning that this is cassunzel so if you don't like it, don't read it

The tower that Cassandra had built for herself could be cold, dark and lonely sometimes. The strange little girl who had been mentoring Cassandra was nowhere to be found, so she sat alone on her throne, the room only illuminated by moonlight shining through the windows.

Rising from the throne, Cassandra started pacing, the heels of her boots clicking against the hard rock floor. She stopped at the largest window, staring out into the horizon and seeing the dark silhouette of the castle in the distance.

She felt sadness consume her as she gazed at her old home. She thought of her father, and how disappointed in her he must be. She thought of her friends - Varian, Lance, even Eugene to an extent. Did they miss her at all? Should they miss her?

And Rapunzel... her ex best friend. At least, Cassandra had been Rapunzel's best friend. To Cassandra, Rapunzel was so much more than that. What would she say if she was here? Cassandra thought.

The Moonstone glowed faintly, a beam of light shooting out of it and stopping a few metres from Cassandra. She jumped back in surprise. In all the time that she had the Moonstone, it had never done anything like this.

The light was starting to take shape into something else, and Cassandra let out a gasp of shock. Within a minute, Rapunzel stood in front of her, but it wasn't the real Rapunzel. She was made out of transparent blue light - a hologram.

"Hello, Cassandra," the hologram greeted. The smile on her face was familiar, but her voice wasn't the same. It was Cassandra's own voice. This was all in her head.

Cassandra stepped back. "What are you doing here?" She asked. She knew it wasn't real, but she wanted to see where this would go.

The hologram reached out to Cassandra. "Take my hand."

Cassandra obliged. The hologram didn't feel real either. She felt something as she took its hand, but it certainly wasn't the same as holding Rapunzel's hand. It was more like warm light was buzzing between her fingers.

The hologram started to slow dance around the room. Cassandra kept up with it, spinning it around as if Rapunzel was really there.

"Come home, Cass," it whispered in her ear.

"You know I can't," Cassandra responded. "Everyone hates me. I've hurt them."

"They don't matter. What matters is you and me," the hologram stated. "I love you, Cassandra."

The dancing slowed, until they were standing still, back in front of the window. Cassandra stared into the eyes of the hologram, getting lost in them. She closed her eyes, and started to lean in...

"She's not real, Cassandra."

Cassandra opened her eyes to see the hologram explode into specks of light. She turned around to see the little girl standing there. "What was that?" Cassandra asked.

"The Moonstone can project pictures that you create in your mind," the little girl answered. "You must have done it by accident."

"Why didn't you tell me I could do that?"

The little girl shrugged. "It wasn't relevant to your mission." She answered. "You know the real Rapunzel doesn't love you, right?"

Cassandra sighed. "I know, but... sometimes she acted like she did."

"She has a boyfriend," the little girl reminded her. "She used you, Cassandra. She led you on."

"You're right," Cassandra admitted.

"She's only going to hurt you if you go back," the little girl claimed. "Remember your mission. The only way you'll get over her is if she's gone."

"If she's gone..." Cassandra repeated.

"Yes. You need to destroy her soon, Cassandra," the little girl told her. "The clock is ticking!"

Cassandra looked out at the kingdom again, but this time with anger. Anger towards everything the princess had done to her.

"Alright. I'll do it."
