Chapter 10

After a little break, it was time for the contestants to choose their teams. Everybody stayed away from Izuku as they knew they had no chance if everyone will be chasing after them. So it was better to become the people who chased him. However, he finally found a team of Tokoyami, Uraraka and some girl from the Department of Support. 

On the other hand, Bakugo was swarmed by people. He came third and he showed some promise so everybody wanted to team up with him. But he just shrugged them all of and instead got Kirishima, Sero and Mina on his team.

Then there was Todoroki, who was also swarmed by a lot of people but in the end chose Iida, Yao-momo and Kaminari.

After the teams were formed they started strategising in the fifteen minutes they were given. And after those fifteen minutes, the battle started. I can't say I'm not nervous. Even though Izuku's team is powerful I don't think they could keep their ten million points. 

as soon as Present Mic's booming voice shouted 'START', everyone ran right for Izuku. He seemed so damn nervous it was hard not to feel bad for him. I had to suppress an urge to just jump down there and save him from those brutes but it's not like they will hurt him or anything. Just before the teams got to them, Izuku activated the jetpack that girl from Support gave him. It was pretty neat, I gotta say. 

After some flying and running away from different teams, Team Midoriya was closely tailed by Todoroki's team. However, Bakugo's team had a hard time pursuing my brother because a team from 1-B was giving them a hard time. The guy who was the rider, I guessed his name was Monoma based on his quirk, has stolen Bakugo's headband and was running away with it. But that got the hedgehog angry and soon he got his headband back. 

Now both Bakugo and Todoroki's teams were trailing after Izuku's ten million. But Todoroki cut Bakugo off by making a huge wall which surrounded his and Izuku's teams. Now that it was easier to get to, Iida used his Recipro Burst and sprinted right for Izuku. When they closed in on him, Todoroki grabbed the headband from Izuku's head. That left everyone shocked because of how quick that happened. As fast as Iida stopped, however, Team Midoriya started charging for them. Izuku used his One For All to fake hit Todoroki's left side, he knew Todoroki only uses his right side, smart boy. That move caught Todoroki by surprise as his flames ignited, but just for a split second. That distraction helped Izuku grab one of the headbands. Sadly it wasn't the ten million one but it was something. Luckily, Tokoyami also snatched a band so now Team Midoriya was in the top four, which meant they moved on to the next event. Izuku cried because of that, he made an absolute waterfall.

In the end, Team Todoroki got first place. Then in second place was Team Bakugo. Team Shinso in third place. And finally Team Midoriya in fourth. 

"We'll proceed to the afternoon portion after a one-hour lunch break!!!" came Mic's voice. Everyone was relieved they could get some longer rest now.

I was walking to the cafeteria but on my way, I caught Bakugo eavesdropping on something. Of course, I didn't say anything and instead eavesdropped myself. And when I heard it I almost laughed out loud. 

"Are you All Might's illegitimate love child or something?" came Todoroki's voice.

He was talking to Izuku, and I was so damn confused. Does he not realise that if that was the case I would be All Might's kid too? I guess he didn't think about that. But after that it got really boring, Todoroki just started talking about his past so I walked away. I didn't feel like intruding anyway, unlike Bakugo, although I guess I didn't stop him either.

When I reached the cafeteria I got myself some food, which was delicious thanks to Lunch Rush. I then sat down on a table where a lot of 1-A sat. I greeted everyone and we all soon slipped into some conversation.

"So how is the sports festival going for you guys?" I asked curiously.

"It's amazing!! I wish you could participate!" exclaimed Uraraka.

"I agree. I think it would be much more enjoyable with you by our sides," added Yao-momo. That warmed my heart.

"I wish I could join you guys, it seems like so much fun," I whined, "But I promise I will cheer you on from the stands."

Everyone cheered and we all soon picked our small groups of friends to talk to. I love those people, even though we are all different nobody is discriminating, which is something extremely nice.

When the bell rang I followed my friends, who were heading out into the stadium, to hear what they will be doing next. However, I didn't go out there with them but stayed in the archway of the entrance. Midnight then started explaining what they will be doing next, which was One-on-one Battles. However, before she could finish Ojiro put his hand up and decided to resign from the event, and so did another kid who was also in Shinso's team for the Cavalry Battle. They complained that Shinso did something to them because they don't remember what happened during the Cavalry Battle at all. So because of that, they were replaced by two people from Team Tetsutetsu: Tetsutetsu and Shiozaki. Ojiro has some gut to drop out of something thousands, if not millions, people are watching. I can't say I wasn't proud of him though.

After that show, the matchups were shown. The first match will be Izuku against some guy named Shinso.

Ojiro and the other guy who dropped out were now walking to some prep room so I decided I will go down there and ask them about the guy form General Studies. When I arrived there they were already in the room and talking. I opened the door and greeted them.

"Hey. You guys put on quite a show just now. That had to take some guts, you're pretty brave, ya know. Anyway, I'd like to ask you guys about the guy you complained about, he seems weird."

"Um, yeah, sure. Why not?" said Ojiro, sharing a look with the other kid who later introduced himself as Shoda.

We talked for a while and what I got from them is that his name is Hitoshi Shinso(the guy Izuku will be fighting) and that he has a mind control quirk. If somebody speaks to him, he can put them in a state where they have to obey whatever he commands. They said it was a pretty villainous quirk but in my opinion, it seemed like a really useful quirk, paired with good training and some muscle you could do some damage to a villain. You could also get information from villains, or make them fight other villains. But I didn't tell Ojiro and Shoda that.
