I headed back to my dorm room. I walked in and sighed. Today was exhausting, and I'm worried that Ouma is serious about killing me. Although he could be lying, I don't think he would joke around about this type of stuff. I looked into the mirror. I almost forgot about the bandana Kokichi gave me. Why did he give this to me? What does this mean? My mind was filled with questions and the only one who could answer them was Kokichi. However, he's a liar and most likely going to lie to me. He always messes with my emotions and I hate it. I hate him...

No...

... I don't hate him. Yes, Ouma can be very annoying and selfish and lie most of the time, but I believe there is a good side to him. I'm going to find whatever that good side must be, even if it kills me. I will rip off his mask full of lies and see the real Kokichi Ouma. Even a supreme leader has a soft side. Right? I guess I'll figure that out myself.

I took off the bandana and tied it to my shelf. I'll figure out what's going on in the morning. I'm too tired to solve something like this. I spread myself out on my bed. Although I wanted to save this topic for tomorrow, I felt Kokichi's words swimming around me. Most of them were in a serious tone, sounding like he was actually telling the truth. Is that possible? Looking back on it, he only used that tone when it was just us two. The thought of him actually telling me the truth felt strange, yet soothing. Maybe he doesn't hate me, like I believed. The feeling made me slowly fall asleep. I'll deal with it in the morning.

Monokuma appeared on the monitor, waking me up. I sighed before standing up and changing my uniform. I felt strange without my hat. Kokichi probably felt the same way with his bandana. At first, I wanted to stay in my dorm. I felt my head hurting, but I knew I had to get up.

Once I was ready, I started to walk to the Dining Hall. On the way I saw Maki, who looked really angry at me. Kaito wasn't with her, so she seemed scarier.

"Shuichi, can I talk to you for a moment?" She stared intensely into my eyes. I felt threatened. What did I do to deserve this?

"Umm...sure." It was hard to talk when someone is staring into your soul. At least I was able to say something.

Her eyes became more intense. How is that even possible? "Why were you in Kokichi's room last night?" Why would she ask something like that? Doesn't Maki trust me? Or does she think that we...

No. That's stupid. I'm sure she knows that I would never do some that stupid, especially in a school environment. "I was just making sure he was okay. He looked disappointed when he left breakfast yesterday." I responded.

"All day?"

"What?" I got confused. Was she following me or something? How would she know something like that?

"You were in his room all day. If I had to guess it was from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m." She responded calmly. Her eyes were finally starting to return to normal.

Was I really in there that long? If felt like an hour, not 10. I guess the game took a while. Plus, we talked for a long time. Maybe it was 10 hours, but how would Maki know that? "Were you following me, Maki?"

Her intense stare appeared again. "Do you wanna die?" I took a step back. Sometimes that's meant as a joke, but this was no joke.

"I'm just asking Maki. You seem to know a lot about my location yesterday." I tried to ignore her deadly stare while speaking.

She sighed. "It's just that when I saw you yesterday, you were either with Kokichi or in his room." Maki leaned closer to me near the end of her sentence.

"Listen, I was just checking up on him before we started talking. I didn't realize how long I was there." I skipped the game part because I knew she would question my alibi and I didn't want to talk about the death threat.

Maki stayed where she was. "I understand, but what were you two talking about?"

"We were just asking each other random questions like 'what's your favorite song?'"

Maki started to say something, but she quickly stopped herself. She was looking behind me. I almost turned around, but she put her hand on my shoulder and whispered into my ear, "Someone's watching us."

"What?! Who?!" I tried to whisper, but I could tell I was too loud because Maki hit me in the arm.

"Be quiet, they can hear us." She looked me in the eye.

"O-Okay," I lowered my voice. "But who is it?"

"The idiot with purple hair." She said bluntly.

"Kaito?" I responded. Ow. Maki hit me in the shoulder harder that the first time. Note to self, don't say anything mean about Kaito in Maki's presence.

"No, Kokichi." She whispered back.

I turned my head to see a short figure with purple hair standing near a wall. He immediately went behind the wall when I saw him. Before I knew it I started walking to him. Maki was trying to tell me to come back, but it was too late I was already there.

"Kokichi, What are you doing here?" I asked him looking around the wall.

"Aww you caught me again." His voice was really cheerful, like always. "Guess that's why you're the Ultimate Detective. You're meant to catch criminals like me."

I sighed. "Answer my question, why were you spying on Maki and I?"

"Nee-heehee." Here comes the lie. "I was just walking by when I heard my name. Knowing Maki, I thought she may have said something mean about me, so I stayed." He smiled.

"I know you're lying Kokichi, so just tell me the truth." I rolled my eyes.

"Fiiiiine." He whined. "Maki was staring into my soul earlier, so I decided to find out why and now I do." That was a lot easier than expected.

"You shouldn't have been following her though."

"Ohh, would you have rathered if I followed you instead?" He tilted his head in curiosity.

I didn't really know how to respond to that. "You shouldn't be following anyone at all."

"I wasn't talking about following them, I was talking about following you. Now looks who's not answering the question." He moved back and forth on the back of his heel. Ouma can act like a child sometimes.

"Do whatever you want Kokichi, I don't care anymore." I was tired of his lies and games. I know I wanted to get the truth from him, but my head started pounding again.

I think he noticed because he looked concerned. "Shuichi, are you okay? You should go lay down."

He was right. My head was hurting and I felt like passing out. I closed my eyes before feeling my legs give out. Everything was a blur afterwards.
