"So...does he do this alot?" I gestured at Peter, who had fallen asleep. His entire weight rested against me and I couldn't move. I didn't want to wake him up. He looked peaceful, content. Both are things I wished I felt when I slept.

"He doesn't sleep a lot."

"Like you're one to talk, Tony." Black Widow, sorry, Natasha rolled her eyes.

"I sleep more than I used to."

"Because of him probably."

Peter shifted and groaned in his sleep.

I glared at the two adults. "Shush, let him sleep." I gently moved an arm to wrap around Peter. His body relaxed and he mumbled something about his dad.

Tony raised an eyebrow. "What with the arm?"

"Protective nature. I get it from my dad." A small smile crossed my face as memories of this weekend crossed my mind. "If someone's near me and they're vulnerable I want to protect them." I kept my voice soft, trying to ignore Peter cuddling closer to me. Most of his weight was now against me, and some of it was on my injuries. It was getting hard not to cry out.

"If you do anything to hurt him, I will track you down and make your life living hell." Natasha stared at me.

"You can't make it worse than it's been."

She narrowed her eyes at me before leaning back. Tony unpaused the movie and I went back to watching it, eventually letting my eyes partially close. Before I could fall asleep, the elevator opened and the scent of greasy, artery clogging fast-food filled the air.

"Here." Happy dropped two Happy Meals onto my lap. He tossed the bag over to Tony. "I figured you could get your own drinks. Plus McDonald's doesn't serve alcohol."

Tony had some snappy comeback to that, but I didn't care. I opened my Happy Meal and pulled out the chicken nuggets. I didn't bother to wake Peter up. Mainly because as soon as I finished my food I ended up falling asleep myself.

When I woke up, it was because someone was shaking me. They weren't gentle about it.

"Five more minutes." I groaned.

"Percy, come on. Happy's going to take us home." Peter shook me harder. The second I realized it was him and not my mom I shot awake.

"I can get myself home if you want to stay here." I said, trying to keep myself  from yawning. I stretched.

"It's late. Too dangerous for you to be walking around by yourself." Happy looked at me. "Besides, May won't be too happy if Peter stays up working all night in the lab again. Come on."

"Is he always like this?" I asked.

"Basically, but he's actually really nice." Peter smiled and followed after Happy.

"Hey kid, I need you over here in a couple days. Tell your aunt." Tony said.

"Okay, Mr Stark." A wide smile spread across Peter's face as he glanced back at Tony. I chuckled. Peter looked at me. "What?"

"Is he your dad or something?"

"No, why?"

"I don't know. It's just, you two seem really close."

"He helps me and May out a lot, I help him out here so we end up spending a lot of time together. I mean, I'm his personal intern so he has to like me enough to deal with me."

"That makes sense. More sense than my brother hating me because Dad cheated on his mom. Blame Dad, not me."  We entered the elevator and continued chatting. Happy didn't look happy that we wouldn't shut up, but I'm not here to make anyone that way. So it doesn't matter.

The moment we were in the car, Happy rolled up the divider.

Peter laughed. "We really must have annoyed him. Normally he waits at least ten minutes."

"What can I say? Annoying people is my strong suit." Along with avoiding dying and beating the crap out of the Stolls.

"I'm surprised Natasha didn't try to shoot you. I was at the tower for a half-hour before you got there. When I came in, I almost ended up with a bullet in my arm."

"That doesn't sound fun."

"It wasn't. Scared me half to death and I thought I'd have to explain to May how that happened. She would've killed Mr Stark."

I laughed and ran my fingers through my hair. "I can see that happening. Mom would do the same thing if something happened to me while I'm at Dad's." I yawned. "You know, I'm still tired so I'm gonna try to take another nap. Wake me up when we get home."

I closed my eyes. Unfortunately, I didn't fall asleep. Some part of my brain screamed danger. My muscles tensed and I wrapped my hand around Riptide. Nothing happened. There were no explosions, no monsters, no 'gas leaks'. There was nothing to justify how I felt It was like that the entire ride home. Even as Peter and I walked upstairs, and we unlocked our respective doors, I was on edge. I glanced around the hallway, jumping as Peter's door latched closed. Riptide danced acoss my knuckles. I stared at the numbers on the door.

It's- It's  like every single piece of my body was ready for a fight that didn't exist. I sighed.  It's probably just my nerves being overactive. Either that or my brain is finally deciding to worry about the injuries I got when I was at Dad's. It makes sense. If something attacks me right now, I honestly don't know if I'd be able to defend myself, much less kill it.

Shaking my head, I turned the door handle and walked inside.

I'm trying to get chapters done, plant seeds that should have been planted over a week ago, and my mom's like we should figure stuff out for your graduation party

Yay.

See yah
