I nod my head in reply. I wrap my arm around his and rest my head against his shoulder, I can feel his tension but then it fades. I just need to calm down. I need to rest. And breathe. Nothing was going to get in my way. Hopefully..
I see Mr. Bree come back with Auntie Annie pretzels. Oh.. he knows me too well. But...that would.. I am snapped out of my trance by Mr. Bree.
“Mrs. Moyer, please have one,” he holds out the cinnamon and sugar coated pretzel. Oh meh gosh. That’s my favorite. But, but...
“I..am not too hungry right now Mr. Bree..but thanks for the offer!” I say positively, trying to keep a good attitude. I know Ridley could tell, I could feel his eyes looking at me. So Mr. Bree takes the extra and stores it away for later. Just in case if I got hungry later. Right now I can see Mr. Bree being confused, I had breakfast. But now I’m not eating anything. Normal. I only eat one meal per day, and have a snack for supper. Or nothing but tea or a lot of water. Which in my opinion was better than food. But that you have some people who would go crazy without eating food. I am obviously not one of them.
We wait for at least 45 minutes till Mrs. Bree comes back, she is holding at least 10 bags full of clothes. Wow, she knows how to shop. Probably all of them are clearance, for you never know what you will find in there.. She comes up to me and smiles brightly.
“I see you have some things, we should model them for each other once we get back home..” I hear my moms voice instead of Mrs. Bree’s real voice. M-my mom would say the same thing.. Not in the same wording but, she meant the same idea. I feel my lip start to quiver, no, no, don’t cry. Not now. I let out a shaky breathe.
“Sure...” my voice cracks but I stand up and wait for everyone else to head out. Ridley was beside me, his arm often brushed up against mine. It didn’t bother me at all. I trusted him, a lot. But not enough to tell him about...them. That red box. Those haunting memories. Those.....voices.
The same voices I hear in class. In Carrie’s voice. Almost everywhere. I shake my head, trying to clear my head from those idea’s. I am starting new, I can’t bring the past with me.
We all start to head out of the mall, I sigh sadly. I love the mall, its an amazing place. I can chill and be cool. Not ‘cool’ but be myself and not get judged like I normally do. A hand wraps around mine, making me stop from going any farther. I glance over and I see a smile on Ridley’s face. He starts to head the opposite way from his parents. Wait. What?
“Wait.. Ridley, your parents are going that way..” I stated the obvious, but he didn’t care. He drags me to an arcade. Oh great. Just what I wanted. I haven’t been to one of these in a long time. Or never, I forget which.
“Come on! Let’s play a DDR game!” Wait a DDR game..? Oh, ohhhhh yes. That isn’t too bad. I like DDR. Did he know that? Nah. I shrug my shoulders and sigh heavily.
“But Ridley-” he puts his finger to my lips.
“No buts Tidal. Whoever wins, gets to choice a punishment for the other..” I raise my eyebrow, just what kind of punishment are we talking about? Like..a weird punishment, or something else. But, he wouldn’t make me go through that.. I see him slide a 5 dollar bill into the machine and four coins come out. He is serious about this, oh gosh. He gives me two and he runs over to the machine, sliding his two coins in he waits for me. I roll my eyes and go over also, putting the two coins in I hit start.
Choosing our level and characters we start out. I of course choose Alice, than my level, haha Standard. As I choose those I see Ridleys face go in a confused state. A huge smile goes on my face, he didn’t see that coming. Ridley chooses Rage, hm, thats who Xandra normally chooses. Thats weird. He chooses the level, Light. Ha, newbie.
