(six years ago)

The classroom door slammed open with such force that the wind it produced ruffled the papers on the desks across the room.

It was Theo.

After the inescapable notion of having him in almost all of my classes for the past three years I've come to know when he is entering a room just by the force of the wind produced. I didn't even have to turn my head.

He went straight for the professor. Usually, I didn't pay him any attention, and the only reason I looked up in surprise was the fact that Theo had, somehow, graduated early with his masters at the end of last year and shouldn't even be here.

The two men were looking straight at me and speaking in hushed voices.

Theo and I had never gotten along. Reason being he's an ass and we're both too prideful for our own good. Nevertheless, I at least tried to be friendly with him. The only time he was ever somewhat nice to me is when he picked up my things from the floor on my first day of school.

I was even more surprised when he signaled for me to come down to them.

"She's my top student." I overheard the professor whisper.

"So you're smart. I find that hard to believe." Theo grumbles.

"I've actually been asked to give the valedictorian speech." I replied heatedly. Did he have to be so rude all the time?

"That was a mistake. You'd probably trip and fall and break the podium." He didn't even spare me a glance, leaving me stunned in silence, and continued to talk to my professor in an even more hushed voice than before. Then suddenly he spoke aloud. "Her? Of all people?"

"Why yes, she's one of the smartest, most hard working students I've had since your father back when I taught in Paris, well besides you of course." The professor voiced kindly.

"Forgive me, but what is this all about?" I intruded.

"I have a hard time believing that her brain actually works." Theo spoke over me.

"Perhaps you'd like to test it out then?" The professor chuckled and turned back to his work.

By now some of the other students had taken intrest in our discussion. I was just as curious, if not more so, about what was going on and how it involved me.

"Come." Theo grumbled and walked straight out of the classroom. I quickly looked at my professor who nodded his okay then I gathered my things and ran after Mr. Grumpypants.

"Are you going to tell me what this is about or are you just going to order me around in your caveman talk?" I breathed as I fumbled with my books behind him.

Silence.

"Wow really?" I continued sarcastically, "I didn't know cow's milk contained pus. Thank you for telling me that useless, disgusting bit of information."

"Shut up." He growled and climbed into the sleek black limo that was parked in front of the school. I rolled my eyes and got in after him.
