I woke up and ran my hand through my hair; it felt really fuzzy. I walked to the bathroom where Harry was brushing his teeth quite roughly and picked up my hair brush. I ran it through my hair multiple times only to make it nappier. Sighing I went to my last resort. I opened the cabinet next to Harry and pulled out a bottle of hair oil. I squirted about a quarter size into my hand and rubbed it all in my hair. Afterwards I brushed out my hair and inspected it; still a dandelion. I threw on some black tights, a high waisted black skirt, a gray pink Floyd tank top, a pair of black combat boots, black knee high socks with white stripes at the top, a gray beanie, and my new jacket I bought that reminded me of my second favorite movie, the Breakfast Club. The first was Forrest Gump cause it's humorous, emotional, and historical at the same time. Jenny and I was always together just like peas and carrots. I grabbed my purse and flung our hotel room door open.
"Bye Harry! I'm headed out!" I called.
"Dbdjdj ifjrbd sjsn kkaoama," he replied.
"Okay," I called back skipping to the lobby and into a city car/Uber. I call it a city car cause it makes me think I'm important or something like that. I closed the door and my stupid hair got caught so I had to open it again and get in completely.
"To the barber shop please," I asked the driver and he nodded. He drove me to the barber shop where I kindly thanked him. I walked through the door making the little bell jingle at the top.
"How may I help you?" A man in his late 30s it looked asked me while working on a clients hair.
"I'm here for a haircut," I explained smiling. He nodded and gestured for me to sit down in the waiting area. I hung my coat up on the coat rack and plopped down on a soft cushy couch. It felt like a big marshmallow. There was no one else in the shop so I sat alone typing my finger on my thigh patiently.
-
"Thank you for coming," the man said to the other client he was working on.
"Have a seat ma'am," he said gesturing to his big barber chair. I walked over and sat down. He wrapped one of those covers to keep your hair off your clothes while they're cutting it and pressed the leaver on the chair to make it go up.
"Alright what would you like?"
"This please," I replied taking my phone out of my pocket and opening the picture of the hair style I wanted.
"Got it," he said and put my phone on his mirror so he could look back at it for reference. He grabbed two rubber bands from the cabinets and braided my hair loosely.
"Ready?"
"Yeah."
"1."
"2."
"3," I heard a loud snipping noise and felt the scissors go through my hair.
-
"Alright all done," the barber said clapping his hands together. I opened my eyes and looked in the mirror. My god I looked different but in a good way.
"I may not be a fortune teller but I see boys in your future!" Called a woman who was sitting in the waiting area reading magazines. I blushed and paid him before thanking him and leaving. I walked down the streets wanting to get fresh air. As I walked I got strange looks from people.
MAYBE IT'S THE WAY SHE WALKED
STRAIGHT INTO MY HEART AND STOLE IT-
"Hello?" I said answering my phone.
"Where are you?!" Harry demanded.
"I'm next to-" I looked around for a second "the place with that weird seafood you didn't like,"
