The two were scrambling over each other. Their claws were sheathed and it made Smokekit confused. She wondered if this was what the Clan called 'fighting'. If so, then why don't the Clans just unite together and fight like this all the time? She wondered, suspiciously narrowing her eyes at the jaws that clamped over Hollywish's scruff. Lionstripe didn't seem to be hurting her at all, and she didn't seem offended or angry.
With a huff of aggrevation, Smokekit jumped over the leaves and landed proudly in front of the two cats. "Lionstipe, that's not how you attack a feline." She cocked her head as if sounding confused, but her main emotion was aggravated. Smokekit had always relied on Lionstripe to be there for her. She knew that if they became mates, like she saw other cats do, there would be no time for her in his life.
When none of the two answered her, irritation caught her mind in place right away. Her facial expression turned to angry as she watched hatefully at Hollywish and how she enjoyed the company of Lionstripe so much.
Finally, Smokekit snapped. She jumped furiously onto the she-cat and grasped her tiny teeth ahold of Hollywish's long black fur.
Lionstripe let them free and he tumbled sideways, keeping his horizontal balance on the matted grass. "Smokekit!" He growled, snatching his jaws onto the gray she-kit's scruff.
Surprisingly to Smokekit, Hollywish got right up, as if not being tackled at all. Lionstripe lapped at her shoulder and nuzzled her neck soothingly.
"I wasn't hurt, Lionstipe." Hollywish reassured him, even though it was clearly visible that she was completely fine. "Smokekit is probably just used to your attention on her." She looked with a smile at the gray kit who had been set on the soft grass floor.
The kit hissed. Her fur bristled then lay flat again. Despise for this unwanted she-cat was all she could think of. Hollywish was out to get her place, and Smokekit didn't like it.

When all three cats returned to the clearing, Smokekit headed for the nursery. Her head was hanging low in frustration. Lionstripe and Hollywish were being lovey-dovey the whole walk back. Smokekit found it extremely boring and a waste of her time. Although she tried to picture herself doing something better than walking beside Lionstripe who was nosing Hollywish instead of her.
Coalstorm greeted her with a meow of delight to see her daughter back home. "How was your-"
"Horrible!" Smokekit answered as she stopped in the nursery entrance before her mother could finish. She tried to think of a word for her feelings of hatred for Hollywish, but could find none in her short kit-memory vocabulary. "Lionstripe found himself a mate, and now he has no time for me! He caught one mouse in front of me, then I watched him nuzzle with Hollywish for the rest of the time." Smokekit huffed and let out a low growl, glancing back at the two who had just now made it back to the clearing.
Her mother was clearly surprised by Smokekit's sudden despise. "Is it because you're jealous?" Coalstorm mewed, not trying to sound mean, but trying to comfort the angry look of her daughter.
"No!" Smokekit spat.
Coalstorm gave a sudden smile, "I have a secret for you, Smokekit. I'm sure it will solve all of your problems." She meowed. Her eyes glowing with excitement and glory.
Interested, Smokekit leaned in, her ear pricked up to listen to her mother's soft words.
"You're going to be a sister."
A slow breeze travelled across the damp new-leaf room as Smokekit's jaw dropped instantly, hearing the soft whisper of her mother's tone in her peachy ear. "Are you mouse-brained?! That doesn't make anything better! Now I won't be able to talk to you either!" Her tail whipped angrily back and forth and her battling criticizement finally came to an end.
With a final glare, Smokekit turned and darted out of the nursery angrily. Her eyes glued to the floor as she ran across the clearing, hoping to run into Lionstripe. Then, she remembered that he will probably already have Hollywish with him. She growled when she bumped into a figure in front of her. "Hey!" Smokekit hissed and looked up.
Above her was Lionstripe. His green eyes glowed in the sudden sunlight and a smile lit up his face. "Hello Smokekit!" He gazed at her, but was surprised to see her already galloping away. When this gesture had happened, Lionstripe started after her. His pelt ruffled in the wind as they began the chase. It wasn't hard for him to catch up because of her tiny legs that slowed her down. "Smokekit, why are you running away from me?"
The gray she-kit whirled around and let out a hiss as he came to a halt in front of her. She was not happy with him since this morning, after he had ignored her to spend time with Hollywish. Smokekit turned to start her racing again.
"Smokekit!" Lionstripe growled, loudly and angrily. Smokekit could sense the worry that mingled with anger now that she was about two fox-lengths away.
She instantly looked back, fright painted her face as her brows drooped and Lionstripe started padding up to her. Surprisingly, he stopped about a rabbit-length away from her, making Smokekit feel uncomfortable in every way.
First, he had ignored her. Second, he had yelled at her when she didn't want to talk. Third, he had used her uncomforts to make her feel bad.
Angry with Lionstripe, she bristled her fur. "Why dont you go comfort your precious mate, Hollywish?!" She spat, although sadness clouded her eyes. Now, she had lost two friends, and Hollywish was not one of them.
