"a clown." amber laughed.
the group of seniors, juniors, and sophomores were sitting at an outside table, eating lunch together.
their whole friend group had been eating outside since middle school, even thought it's not allowed.
the teachers have just gotten used to it.
they all knew that buffy and tj weren't ever gonna leave, and their friends would stay with them.
"you're staring at the leaves again, stupid." iris whispered, waving her hand in front of marty's face.
"no i'm not. i'm looking at the one with a caterpillar on it." marty pushed iris' hand out of his face.
"how ya feeling?"
"i'm fine."
"you sure?"
"can you buy me a snack from the vending machine?" marty changed the subject, handing iris a five dollar bill.
"don't change the subject. you good?"
"i just said i'm fine but i do want a strawberry poptart."
"fine." iris huffed, walking to the vending machine.
"did you hear what diana said about jacobi?" kira asked the group, "she said that he was a man hoe because he's going around, asking girls for their numbers because him and diana broke up."
"we all know he'll be back with her tomorrow. plus, jacobi can never stay single." marty contributed to the conversation.
"true. there hasn't been a year since we were in third grade."
