wake up, get ready for school, get in car, pick up buffy, cyrus, and tj, go to school, after school is practice, after practice tutoring, home, dinner, sleep, repeat.

on the same cycle since eighth grade.

for the past month, it's been hectic.

not going to sleep, getting ready for school at four in the morning, occasionally driving his car, usually riding the bus, going to school, going to practice, doing tutoring when he can, sleep, and repeat.

"you ready for your game tomorrow?" iris asked, throwing her stuff into the back seat of her car and getting into the drivers seat.

"yeah. i'm pretty sure we're gonna win." marty answered, getting into the passenger seat.

"what do you mean you 'think' we're gonna win? we're grant high. we haven't lost since nineteen ninety-two."

"we've lost a bunch of things."

"name one thing we've lost in."

"volleyball, soft ball, boys soccer, ten-"

"alright, shut up."

"you told me to name the sports we've lost in."

"yeah. i asked for one."

"and i gave you answers."

"you trying out for any other sports this year or are you just sticking with basketball and track?"

"i'm doing them all but wrestling."

"why not wrestling?"

"i don't know. i just don't want to."

"how are your grades?"

"you know that you're two years older than me and not twenty, right?"

"just tell me if you're failing or not." iris stopped in front of tj's house for tj and cyrus to walk out.

"if i was failing any of my classes, i wouldn't be on the football team."

"hey guys." cyrus hopped into the backseat with tj, "how goes it?"

"it goes good, mr. cyrus." iris smiled.

"marty, how goes it?"

"it goes good, cy." marty said.

cyrus was always a morning person.

he was a happy little guy.

"did you guys study for the science exam?" tj asked, shoving his papers into his backpack.

"imagine having a test on a tuesday. couldn't be me." iris laughed.

"cyrus, marty, since iris chooses to not answer the question, did you study for the test?"

"i have the study guide if you need it." marty said.

"what period do you have mr. kronts?"

"fifth."

"could i use your notes in second period and give it to you in third?"

"i have pe for third."

"then fourth?"

"yeah." marty answered, getting out of the car and walking into the school with his sister and friends.

"i mean, i don't think she's coming back. it's been a month." a junior named diana said.

"why would you say that? she was one of my closest friends and you think it's okay to say that near me?" buffy's friend, who's also marty's ex, rachael said.

"i thought you two hated each other."

"just cause we don't talk everyday doesn't mean that we aren't friends."

"in my opinion, yes it does."

"diana, sometimes you piss me off to the oblivion."

"i'm just saying that i don't think she's coming back. you can't get mad at me for my opinion."

"yes i can!"

"whatever."

"don't you need to go suck jacobi's dick or something?"

"that was one time!" diana stormed off to her class.

"no it wasn't! we all saw it, diana!"

is she ever going to come back cyrus thought.
