"It's official. The Universe hates me. I will never get to have my dream come true. Might as well just watch Vine compilations and listen to music for the rest of my life." Patty said while we were walking to Chemistry with the school crowded as always. It had already been a whole week since the so-called "date" and Patty still hadn't shut up about it. Why was I not expecting that?
"I thought your dream was to become a forensic pathologist or the next Channel," I replied confused.
She rolled her eyes at me and then picked up her phone. "There are different types of dreams, girl. Keep it up." Patty responded with a slight glare.
I sighed, growing even more confused. "So first there were different types of eyeliner, even though they pretty much do the same thing. Then there were different types of bad boys. Now there are even different types of dreams? Girl, why can't things be just simple and have logical explanations for stuff?"
She put her phone back in her pocket and looked at me very seriously. "You live in the world of fandoms. We both do. You have different types of fangirls and fanboys in each fandom. None is like the other. Just the same thing with everything else in life. No avocado is the same as any other avocado."
I looked her deadly in the eye and took a deep breath placing my hand on her shoulder. "Point taken. And girl, at some point you gotta stop watching every single Vine compilation there is."
She looked at the ground. "Once you start you can never stop. It's an endless loop. No end. The croissant will never drop. The kid will always play the kazoo. The Valentino white bag will always have lipstick. A child will always be worse than a rapist. We will always sing Kumbaya at Bible Studies. There will always be three bagel boys. And an avocado will always turn into guacamole! Just as MY OTP WILL COME TRUE! GOT IT?!" She said almost spitting every word in my face while grabbing me by the collar of my jacket with both hands.
In response, I just smiled and nodded because I knew that if I disagreed, then the most likely thing to happen was for me to end up in a room with a chalkboard written all over with a guide on how to get "Cadam" to be cannon or something far worse. Well, probably not a chalkboard since the chalk creates dust and the dust creates the possibility of her getting her clothes ruined. So probably a very organized board like the one detectives use in an investigation. With Patty, you never know.
She dropped me and straightened herself. "Good. Because he's coming our way." And just like that she put on her best smile and started acting like she totally didn't just have a fangirl attack. Which was both scary and a relief.
I looked at the crowd of people in front of me and spotted three green jerseys with a big black J on them. Yup, the three of them were coming our way in their all mighty glory that a senior jock could possibly have. So basically they were gods among common mortals and three perfectly normal weirdos to me. The world's great ain't it!? No. It is not.
"Ladies!" Thomas said in a very unsexy tone once our paths crossed.
"Thomas." Patty and I replied at the same time.
"What's up Dynamic Duo?" Adam almost shouted all of a sudden.
With that, I just looked at Patty and she to me with confused looks and then looked back at Adam who was starting to freak out a bit.
"Dynamic Duo?" Patty and I said at the same time.
Then, I noticed Ben about to burst out laughing placing his hand on Adam's left shoulder. "Dude, you gotta start being more creative with nicknames for the girls."
"He's right, Johnson." Thomas added also about to laugh his heart off.
Adam, being the brat that he is, looked at both of them and then at us, and then back at them. "Ok, so when Caroline calls us the Not So Fantastic 4, or when Thomas calls both of them 'Ladies' it's all good. But when I come up with a cool nickname for them, nobody accepts it." He responds "very annoying"
