Chise

The man seemed, familiar. His voice, while threatening to everyone else as he screamed about something I couldn't bother to pay attention to, seemed to comfort me for some reason, but also fill me with the feeling of rage and betrayal. I didn't know why. Suddenly I heard my name come from his mouth "Chise, come here" he said. I was puzzled and squirmed in my husband's grasp to meet his gaze, tilting my head in confusion. "Chise Hatori" he said firmly, like a father disciplining his Child. And then it clicked. I forced Elias to let go of me, I could see he was surprised of my newfound strength as I Strode towards the man with a burning hatred in my clover eyes. Elias tried to get up and pull me back to safety, but I gave him a hard stare, he was no doubt surprised, as he and Ruth had never seen such hatred in my eyes. At that point I heard a small, almost inaudible gasp come from Ruth. He had made the same realization that I had. He tilted his head and I nodded, approving his question of if he could share his newfound information with Elias before I turned back to the man.

"I don't think I ever caught your name" I said sweetly, you would have to know me well to hear the venom in my voice. The man did not seem fazed, in-fact, his gaze was triumphant as he went to answer me.

"Oh my name is Yuuki, Yuuki Hatori" it was only then that he realized his mistake as I clenched my fist and hatred burned through my clover eyes. I almost wanted to chuckle at how startled he became. I un-clenched my fist before bringing it up lightning fast and Slapping him across the face. He winced and I heard the movement of sheets as my Husband got up and began walking over. Yuuki looked hurt, emotionally, but I could care less.
"Why?" I asked through a clenched jaw, venom dripping from my voice. He stuttered, unsure of what to say before quietly whispering so I even had to strain to hear.

"Because I had to" this enraged me more and I was about to harm him again before a hand stopped my advance. I felt a warm breath on my neck and a bony head nuzzle me, calming me down almost instantly.

"Are you ok Chise?" Asked Elias, his smooth voice sending shivers down my spine at every word as I slowly nodded. He hummed in response and grabbed me by the waist before adjusting me in his arms and carrying me back to bed as the furious shouts of my father and Ruth drifted into seemingly nothing and I leaned into his chest. I matched my breathing with his and drifted to sleep almost the instant my head made contact with the soft, plush pillows on the bed.
