A/N - So I think I want to write angst and fluff in turn, alternating each. This one will be angst, which I write better than fluff and happiness because... I don't know. I can relate to angst and sadness more than that so - called emotion 'happiness'. Oh and by the way, this is based off of the ending for the 'Walking Dead: Season 1' game. Enjoy, my ferns!

Summary - Butterfly effect: a death will bring another death, followed by another death.

Warnings - Swearing, sadness, death, walking dead rip -off

Genre - Angst lol

Word Count - 673

It all began when the infection went viral. Dan and I were running out of food, and we were both scarred and hurt...

- Flashback -

"Dan, I don't think this is a good idea!" I tried to stop Dan from going outside, and he sighed, putting one cold hand on one of my shoulders.

"You don't have to come with me!"

"It's not that, and you know it!"

        "Then what is it?"

        "I can't lose you!"

"So come with me so that you can die with me if I do!"

"Don't talk like that!" Frustrated, I had let out a long breath. Dan shook his head, and just walked outside while I was hesitating.

"Dan!" I gasped before running out behind him. Nervous, I clung onto Dan while he confidentally moved through the crowd of zombies. It was all going well when crack! I stepped on a twig, and at that moment, our eyes both went wide open. Dan turned to look at me, and I was panicking when I felt a bony but strong hand grasp my arm. I breathed heavily, wanting to scream loudly. Dan was about to grab my other hand but a large wave of zombies came crashing through between us, making me lose sight of him. I wiggled around and soon, I broke free of the zombie's hands, starting to sob. I thought about Dan - everyone in a thousand mile radius could hear his gun shooting - when I heard a yelp that sounded a lot like his - that was his - from the middle of the big group of zombies. At that moment, my sense were overwhelmed with the thought Dan. I pushed through them, punching any one that tried to make out with me. I went near Dan, who was lying on the ground with a bloody maroon puncture in his neck. No!

So I pulled him into a nearby shed, saving us from further danger, and looked at him. He barely opened his eyes as he spoke. I kneeled down, looking at Dan's tired face. I stroked his wound in his neck, covering my mouth with the other hand.

"Phil... Phil... I don't have much time, Phil. Take this gun, and shoot me. Don't say anything."

        "Dan - I -"

"I'm dangerous, Phil. Phil, just do it. Just remember... I love you..." Dan whispered, and forced the gun into my hands.

"No, no, no! I can't! I love you, Dan!"

"Philip Michael Lester. Look into my eyes. If you truly love me, if you truly want me to be happy, kill me. Shoot me, darling." My tears falling onto his face, I sank down.

"... But what am I going to do without you?"

"Survive. Stay. Alive. And... I love you..." He croaked out, reaching out to touch my cheeks. As his hands fell onto his stomach, he closed his eyes, sweating dry sweat. Shutting my eyes, I looked away, and with shaking hands, I pulled the trigger.

- End of Flashback -

So I'm here. Laying next to my dead lover. Almost dead myself. Blood everywhere. With all of my effort, I lift my trembling head up to look into Dan's dark, dull, glazed - over chocolate eyes. His dark brown hair is messed up as I lazily smile, darkness seeping in to the corners of my eyes.

"I love you too, Daniel James Howell... I love you..."
