A/N - The reason this is titled 'Bleeding Out' because this was originally supposed to be for one of my Minecraft parody stories/animations of Bleeding Out by Imagine Dragons, but I stopped it halfway due to my laziness. I know that Dan and Phil have only played Minecraft once and ARE COMPLETE NOOBS AT IT, but for now, just think this is a Minecraft world but with non - blocky features. Enjoy the story!
Summary - Not all love stories have happy sappy endings.
Warnings - Character death, sadness, moments where you go 'idiot!', swearing, Dan being older than Phil
Genre - Angst, what does it look like?
Word count - 2195
(Third person PoV)
Dan walked around with a torch in one hand, a pickaxe in the other. His brown hair was caked with dust, and he coughed as he went deeper into the mine. He could sense a dungeon nearby, but it wasn't the normal monster spawner dungeon built with mossy stones that he could feel. It was something else. He began to pick up pace, wondering what the fuck was so near him. At one point, he began to sprint towards the low buzzing sound coming from nearby. Soon, he heard a cracked growl and a moan from a wall. He held up his iron pickaxe, and started to pick at the stone. Dan broke into the wide, square room and was slightly spooked by the fact that he couldn't see the end of the room. He was right; it wasn't an average mob dungeon. He placed a burning torch on a nearby wall, and repeated it until he could see the corner of the other end of the room. Dan scanned the corners, and his eyes caught a crouched figure. He stepped closer to it, and saw it flinch. It looked like a black - haired boy with pale skin glowing in the torch flame, wearing a checkered t - shirt. The brunette male took one more step towards the mysterious shadow, and suddenly, he was blown back by an explosion. Groaning, Dan steadily stood up, dusting his shoulders. He looked up, and saw the figure standing in the middle of an ash plume. Dan grit his teeth, and gripped his sword tightly after pulling it out of its worn out leather sheath. He pointed his slightly rusty sword at the boy, leaping at him. The boy jumped out of the way of the sword, and punched the back of Dan's head. The brown - haired boy yelped before catching his balance, preventing further injury. He turned back, enraged, and stabbed the other boy in the arm. The raven - haired male let out a gasp, a cry, and eventually fell to the ground. Dan pulled out the sword, making a sick 'splush' sound as it released the blood under the torn skin. While the boy was laying on the floor, half - conscious, Dan, pointing the bloody blade at the boy, he slowly began to make his way to him. Dan crouched over the male, and turned him over. He scraped the boy's midnight - black fringe back, and lowered the torch near, but not too close, to his face.
It was the most beautiful thing Dan had ever seen.
The boy had, as described before, long, straight jet - black hair with a blue shine, porcelain pale skin that glowed in the light, chapped, faded pink lips and a pretty darn cute nose, in Dan's opinion. Dan gulped, and made a decision. He decided that he would quickly rush this beauty to his house above and tend to him as best as he could. And so he carried out his plan, picking up the boy that was surprisingly light bridal style, running to the surface and into his wood and stone house amongst several others. You see, Dan lived in a small village/town, shared by approximately 50 to 60 people. The town welcomed newcomers, but like everyone else, you had to build your own house and gather your own minerals to join. Dan was relatively rich, and he lived alone; his rich parents had moved to the city once Dan had reached the age of 16, letting Dan have their mansion and some of their money to start off his life. Dan laid the breath - taking boy on one of his guest beds, and couldn't help but kiss the pale boy's forehead. Dan smiled, before snapping out of his trance and falling into reality. If he were to ever start a relationship with this boy, he needed to save him. And very quickly, at that - he was losing blood quickly.
