A/N -

Holy shit! I go on a hiatus for 2 months, I come back, and I've got 1.3K reads and 63 votes? Oh my gosh! When I saw that number, I was fucking mind-blown that THAT MANY PEOPLE would actually read these one-shots! That motivated me and now I'm going to try to get back on a writing schedule! For Warriors fans, on my fanfiction.net profile, CaramelThing, I have a fanfiction called Mistleleaf's Code! If you want to, go check it out! Anyway, this is a Warriors AU! Warriors is a book series about cats, so this is going to be a Warriors and Phan fusion, meaning that these are ALL CATS! So Dan and Phil are Oakpaw and Stormpaw. Dan is in ThunderClan, while Phil's a RiverClan cat. This is going to be set in the warrior cats' old camp in the forest, but not actually. It's kind of hard to explain. Also, Phil's going to be a few days younger than Dan in this one - shot!

Summary - When two cats from different Clans meet along the border, they either fight or take flight. However, what happens when neither fight nor take flight?

Warnings - Warriors stuff (if you don't understand or haven't read the books, I recommend you don't read this one - shot because you won't understand), mentions of death, blood, major character death (so that I won't have to continue this :p)

Genre - Angst/fluff

(Oakpaw's PoV)

"I'm going to go out to hunt." I announced to my denmates, Lightpaw and Bumblepaw. They merely nodded, and I shrugged before walking out. I wanted to train for my warrior assessment coming up soon. I was so excited to become a warrior! I wondered what my warrior name would be. Oakclaw, for my fighting skills? Or perhaps Oakheart, after my courage! Wait, no. Oakheart had been a RiverClan warrior once. Of course, Bluestar was his mate, but... he was RiverClan. I shook those thoughts off, and skipped out of the camp.

"Where do you think you're going?" I heard Sootflower, my Clan's deputy, ask. I turned around to look at the dark gray she cat, who was standing a few cat - lengths away from me, her ears flickering and her thick tail swaying slowly behind her.

"I'm going hunting. I want to practice." I stated, and as soon as she nodded, I smiled and ran out. It felt so good to have the wind in my fur. I was going to the RiverClan border - the RiverClan leader, Softstar, and our leader, Barkstar, were good friends, and still are. RiverClan and ThunderClan didn't like to mingle with the other, but since their and our leader was friends (which was bad), they and we followed their and our leader's words. I cracked open my jaws, and tasted the air. It was full of prey-scent, but a waft of water vole caught my attention. I spied its little body near a bush. Eyes locked on it, I grinned and pounced on it, catching it in my mouth. I turned around, when the sound of pawsteps stopped me.

"Hey! You're on RiverClan territory, you stupid furball!" A growl sounded behind me, and my fur bristled and my claws slid out. Holding back a hiss, I turned around, facing my opponent. I was about to strike a blow on his nose, when I saw him. He was a jet-black tom with white and gray patches and piercing, ice-blue eyes staring into my amber ones. I backed up and straightened my posture, letting my claws go back into their sheathes. I saw the tom do the same, and I coughed.

"Um, actually, I'm in ThunderClan territory." I pointed out, holding out one of my paws and patting the ground right in front of me.

"You - you literally just backed up." The tom sighed, shaking his head. I purred, and rubbed the back of my ear.

"So what's your name?"

"Why do you want to know?" The tom shot back, narrowing his eyes, but his ears were still perked up. I shrugged.

"Because I like you." I simply mewed. Then, I felt my fur prickle. I shouldn't have said that. I shouldn't be talking to him. I shouldn't have feelings for him. I shouldn't have feelings for toms! I flattened my ears, and looked away. I didn't want to see the disgusted expression on the RiverClan tom's face. but I felt a cold nose touch my ear, and I looked back to see the tom in front of me, smirking. I noticed he was a bit smaller than me, but then again, I was quite a massive tom.
