Five Nights at Wattpad {ON HOLD}

Chapter 5: The Second Night

It was 10:15PM when I got out of bed. I threw on my uniform and headed outside. I was shaky, but determent to go back. I was scared. I felt like this was a mistake, but some strange part of me was making me put one foot in front of the other and walk down the street toward Wattpad. I didn’t feel like driving to Wattpad. My arms would be too shaky to hold onto the wheel and since it was just a few blocks down the road I walked again.

As I walked I thought of my friends and family and how I may not live to ever see them again. I was ready for the worst.

When I got there it was 10:36, I had some cash and an idea. I walked over to the shops and bought, a tails doll necklace, a PewDieCry Fan-Fic, a small stuffed Pikachu. I placed the objects on the far side of the fair, far from the office and far from the gates.

I was surprised that when I got back from the far end of the fair there were still a few teens hanging out by the animatronics. I walked over to Mango’s stage reluctantly. I poked my head my head inside the curtains. I looked up at the animatronic whose head was tilted down so it looked back at me with a terrifying glare. I jumped back from the animatronic, being scared of it for the first real time in my life. I took a deep breath and poked my head back in. “H-Hey Mango..!” I said to the animatronic. “I-I just wanted to c-check in with you before my s-shift started...” I said afraid that Mango would ‘wake up’. “W-Well, I-I gotta get to m-my shift..! You b-be good..!” I said and rushed away from the animatronic. I didn’t have time to check in with the other animatronics tonight, it was already 11:47pm and the teens were just leaving the fair and Violet stood at the gate.

“So you came back!” She said happily. “It’s not because of you.” I said bluntly to her. “Aw c’mon!, Don’t be so mean! I am paying aren’t I?” She said and smirked. “I could care less about your money at this point…” I said as I started walking towards the office. “Well, it is a nice bounce isn’t it?” She said and turned to the gates. I turned around. “Hey Violet.” I said. She turned to me. “Hm?” I sighed. “If I don’t make it through my shift tonight..,” Tears started welling up in my eyes. “Tell my mom, my sister and my friends that I love them.” Violet looked shocked. “I-I will.” She said and almost ran to the gates. I walked inside and found my way to the office.

12:00AM. 100% power.

I sat in my chair, my heart racing, chills running down my spine. The light on the desk phone was blinking green once again. I pressed the button and listened.

“Uhh, Hello? Hello? Uh, well, if you're hearing this and you made it to day two, uh, congrats! I-I won't talk quite as long this time since Emma and her friends tend to become more active as the week progresses.”

I laughed. “Thanks Kyla but you told me that already…”

 “Uhh, it might be a good idea to peek at those cameras while I talk just to make sure everyone's in their proper place. You know... “

I nodded to myself and started checking the cameras. Everyone was still in place. “Good.” I sighed.

“Uh... Interestingly enough, Emma herself doesn't come out of her book section very often. I heard she becomes a lot more active in the dark though, so, hey, I guess that's one more reason not to run out of power, right?”

“I guess you forgot to tell me that part…” I muttered

“I-I also want to emphasize the importance of using your door lights. There are blind spots in your camera views, and those blind spots happen to be right outside of your doors. So if-if you can’t find something, or someone, on your cameras, be sure to check the door lights.”

I pushed the light buttons making sure they still worked. “Blind spots. Got it.” I muttered.

“Uh, you might only have a few seconds to react...  Also, check on the curtain in Mango’s book section from time to time. The character in there seems unique in that she becomes more active if the cameras remain off for long periods of time. I guess she doesn't like being alone. I don't know. Anyway, I'm sure you have everything under control! Uh, talk to you soon.”
