"Ughh - no this scene is n-not acha w-why don't we do the next scene? Its e-easier and be-better to enact naa! W-why don't you understand? It will be easier to learn!..... If y-you ag-agree. " Avneet involuntarily added the last part, she was scared.
Avneet and Siddharth had been practicing together for a week now and Avneet still hadn't got used to him. It wasn't her fault..... She was an introvert afterall.... Probably an extrovert turned introvert 🤷🏼♀️.
"okay so let me read this to you so that you understand this and I'll record my voice side by side so that you can hear it and memorise it. Okay?" Siddharth was trying his best to help Avneet do things despite dyslexia. Avneet was overwhelmed by his concern. She decided her best to speak without stammering, for him.
"Memorise toh i will do... But i will not speak it in front of the whole class. I can't do that! Pleaseeeee"
"okay we'll see that later first you listen to this....." Like that siddharth narrated the whole sequence twice recording it side by side.
Siddharth was playing the character of Ivan and Avneet's character was named Natalya. Since they didn't have other actors, they had to perform the scenes in which only Natalya and Lomov had a conversation.
They learnt and heard and learnt the play for hours until Reem and Jai decided to barge into the room.
"When will you guys take a break? We're getting bored here!" Reem wailed.
"Where are Anu and Aashu?"
"Aashu dii is busy talking with Raj bhai and Anushka dii is.... God knows where gaayab" Jai said. Suddenly Reem nudged jai and gestured towards Siddharth and Avneet who were sitting on the floor, surrounded by loads of sheets of paper they had used to make the script.
Jai nodded in a no. Reem stumped his feet. He started jumping on one leg caressing his injured feet. Reem giggled and nudged him again jai glared at her.... She passed an even more threatening glare. Jai joined his hands and bowed down as if to surrender. Reem looked up in the air, proud of herself.
"In dono ki toh kahaani hi alag chal rahi hai!" Siddharth whispered to an amused Avneet as she nodded in approval, giggling.
"Kahaani nahi chemistry!" Avneet added and they both chuckled.
Siddharth cleared his throat, to gain attention from the sign language that was going on.
"I guess you both wanna tell something..."
"Err No...." Jai started only to get stomped on his feet again. He started jumping again, saying "Me and reem are dating!".
That was enough for pages to fall out of Avneet's hand and a fly to get into siddharth's open mouth. Siddharth's protective brother side was just taking over as he was going to pounce on jai for asking his sister out, reem called him out....
"Bhai, two minutes kitchen me aake kuch samaan nikaal do.... Bohot upar pada hai..." reem said eyeing siddharth. Siddharth was about to taunt her to take her newly made boyfriend but reem glared at him shutting his mouth. He was really pissed but he nodded and went away with reem. Avneet threw a large pillow at jai as soon as they were out of sight.
"J?! What the hell is happening? Reem my sister in law? Damnn! I thought you met her just a week ago!" Avneet teased her brother.
"Err.... I don't know!" Jai said and walked away. He actually didn't know what was going on.
Avneet shrugged and resumed her work. After a few minutes, Siddharth came after talking to his sister. He was internally gagging at reem.
"Just think, Ivan Vassilevitch! How long have the Oxen meadows been yours? Never right?! Both grandfather and great grandfather reckoned that their land extended to Burnt Marsh—which means Oxen Meadows are ours. I don't think there's anything to argue about! That's completely silly!" Avneet shouted, pointing a pen at him. She wasn't able to learn and enact this since long. This time she was determined to do it.
