"Tell me everything," I demanded. "Now."

I thought she looked familiar when you showed me a sketch of her. She was the person who monitored my personal simulation. She sounded very robotic like someone had zapped out all her emotions.

"But I thought the Merging Process was meant to make you flawless and-" Arista sealed my lips shut, boiling anger simmering behind it.

Nothing is flawless. The Merging Process is flawed. There have been rumours about Merged people that have gone insane because they couldn't get used to their other. This might have happened to your sister.

"Arista," I emphasized her name heavily. "What is the Merging Process? Who were you? Why do you remember so many things?"

You must promise me to never tell anyone, not even our other, Natasha. She may have a golden heart, but our secrets will flow out of her like a river. Throughout our training, I managed to keep this secret to myself, but I do feel bad not telling you two about this.

"I won't," I said firmly, my eyes blankly trained on the screen.

The Merging Process was established 5 years ago, led by William and a group of Scientists. One of them was Teresa.

"Teresa, like the one in the anonymous letter," I murmured.

I'm not sure about that, but it might have been a coincidence. The training's aim was to bring out each of the candidate's strengths so they could be combined when the Merging Process happened. I specialized in physical training while you specialized in Sciences and Natasha specialized in Languages. We all had our own strengths, so combining them made us almost perfect.

"But I'm failing all my physical classes," I frowned. "Does that mean you didn't perform well in physical training?"

I was mostly unconscious for the first 2 months, so I guess my abilities were dormant too. They drugged me with a serum, I think.

"It's either a dilute serum 23 or a really concentrated serum 24," I commented. "Two months is a really long time."

It sure is. Arista sighed. Having your mind as your only company isn't that fun.

"But you're communicating with me," I murmured. The Security were leaving now, changing shifts.

We're actually communicating through our interlinked minds. So theoretically, we aren't actually communicating consciously.

"So what you're saying is that you're unconsciously communicating with me." This idea was terribly absurd, but terrifically intriguing at the same time.

I don't know how to explain it very well, but I can see what you and Natasha are seeing, although it gets quite tiring. I can also occasionally hear what you two are thinking, and communicate with you when necessary. I think the serum is wearing off. I'm getting more conscious by the hour. Arista paused, deep in thought. I can feel it.

According to Anthony, I was immune to serums. In simulations, I could bend them to my will. I haven't tested for other serums yet, but I guess I was immune to them as well. Scientists were scared that my immunity would cause an imbalance for the three of us, so they applied a serum to me before performing the Merging Process.

"Are there other people who are immune to serums, like you?" I asked. "According to the letter, it says that such immunity is hereditary."

I'm not sure. Arista replied quietly. Whatever it was, my immunity managed to preserve my memories. Even when I was unconscious.
