"Why must you always go and do unnecessary things for me Lucien?"

I look over my shoulder, a gasp leaving my lips as I saw Erebus standing behind me. I found myself craning my neck, coming to find him to be taller in the demon world than my world.

His dark brown skin covered in tattoos that illuminated a blinding blue. Traveling up his arms and ending at his chest. Fascination was the first thing I felt staring at his marks.

When I looked into his eyes they were just as blinding as the blue tattoos on his arm. Except it didn't hurt my eyes, they were just fascinating to witness. Almost like I was staring into some foreign skies, with some stars present.

My fingers began to reach for his silver hair, mesmerized by how it seemed to be glowing on this pitch black den. Except before my fingers could feel Erebus hand grabbed my wrist tightly.

I stared up at him, wondering why he was doing this to me. Except it was more clear than I was letting it be. I knew his reasoning...I just refuse to admit it.

"You should not have come." Erebus hissed venomously into my face, tossing my hand aside as I almost fell from such an action. I grabbed my wrist and began to massage away the soreness of him holding it so tightly.

I watched him begin to back away from me, this emotion present on his face that I couldn't decipher. At this moment I wish I could read his face, but I couldn't.

"What else was I supposed to do-?"

"Live your life normally again? What kind of idiotic question is that?" Erebus snapped at me before I could finish my words. I could tell he was furious and frustrated. But I was even more so.

"Erebus-."

"Do not utter my name." He growled at me instantly, his finger pointing at me. "You do not know when to quit. I left you because I was only bringing you pain and suffering."

"You don't know if I'm in pain or suffering. If I was, I would say it." I tell him with as much harshness as I could.

Erebus on the other hand suddenly grabbed my wrist, yanking me closer towards him. Suddenly shoving me to the ground and was above me, an even more furious expression on his face.

"Do you know who I am? Do you think you can fool me?" Erebus yelled into my face, my expression staying the same. I wasn't afraid of Erebus and there was nothing he could do that would make me fearful.

"Of course I can't fool you." I say softly, Erebus shaking his head at me.

"I am Lucifer, Satan, the Devil. You could never fool me! You do not think I do not feel your pain? I can hear your thoughts-."

"I told you not to read my thoughts, that's not fair." I interrupt in irritation to his words, with him reading my thoughts like that, it feels like a violation.

"Do I have to listen to you? Why do you lie to yourself and continue to let me stay in your life? All I do is bring you pain and suffering, I am the Devil. I am not meant to be happy. I came to Earth with one objection that soon turned into an obsession. You do not deserve this pain any longer." He told me, his thumb settling on my lips.

I continued to stare into his eyes, watching carefully. I already knew that he was trying to push me away and I refused for him to do so.

"I came here because you left your human body. Your soul was gone, it was as if you closed it off-."

"Because I am the devil. I left my human form and decided to come back here because I almost got you killed, for the third time. I am tired of you risking your life for me." Erebus said calmly, and his thumb began to run along my lips. "You even risked your pure soul in the demon world just to speak to me? Do you see what I am trying to say?"
