(adj.) undying, immortal, eternally beautiful
***"I am still against me having to suddenly come here." I tell Erebus as he stood before a church. His wings just out in the open, noticing him check out the church. As if he was trying to figure something out.
"We are not staying here for long. I just need to figure something out. This war started a couple of days ago and nothing has happened. I am beginning to wonder if I am going to have to play their game." He took a deep breath, beckoning me towards him.
I walk beside him and he wraps his arm around my waist. He ends up flying onto the roof of the church, causing me to realize how high up the church really was.
"This is St Pierre-de-Montmartre, a church that has led to the founding of the Society of Jesus. It is here that I need to make note of something." Erebus tells me, and I watch him begin to walk to an opening of the church.
Leaving me, just standing on the roof that made me question on if I'd fall or not.
"Oh yeah, I haven't heard much of Jesus. Is Jesus not going to be involved?" I ask curiously, and Erebus frowns.
"This has nothing to do with Jesus. He died on the cross for your heathen race, so let him have a break - shall we?" He teased as a smirk grew on his face, he reached for my hand and I took it.
With him helping me along, he sat me on his lap as he slipped inside of the church. Once we were inside I saw that it was not dark like I thought it would be.
The paneled glass gave off an eerie glow as we slowly floated to the ground. Erebus seeming to be focused on one task at hand. I was curious to know what it was, but I kept my comments to myself.
"Society of Jesus's peoples are considered to be 'God's soldiers', 'marines', and or 'the Company'. They believe it is best to find God in all things, which...I am never one to bash peoples practices, but..." He drifted, shaking his head as his feet settled on the ground. "I suggest you walk very quietly or take off your shoes. I do not know who is here and who is not. All I know is at night time, some angels have a tendency to come down here and witness their prayers. I want to see if they have anything to confess."
I nod at his words, suddenly feeling like I was intruding most definitely. I'm a mere human and me doing this stuff is morally wrong. For him to do it, it may mean nothing to him. For me to just be intruding...
"If you feel this way, stay here. I will witness by myself-."
"I am coming. Just a little worried." I state truthfully as I take off my shoes. "Isn't it wrong?"
Erebus frowns, and he begins to caress his chin. Suddenly I saw his tail creep from around him. Reaching towards me as it scratched my leg, kind of entertaining me.
"I do not think so. For humans it may seem wrong. I am only doing what is necessary. I could send a demon, but they will get killed if they are met by the Cherubim." Erebus whispers, and he grins. "They will not hurt you. Cherubs love human beings, it is me they hate - which I love!"
He smiled so happily, and he began to look around the church.
"Let us go."
I walked behind Erebus, trying my best to walk quietly. I had on socks and was basically sliding on the floors.
The more we walked along I began to see that in one particular area - it was dimly lit. My eyes began to squint so that I could focus better. Except the more we walked forward I felt Erebus grab my hand.
When I look at him, he began pulling me against him. His eyes scanning the area quickly and he nods forward.
"They are over there, I need a better view though... The cherubs are near that area as well. This is going to make things much more difficult." Erebus sneered, and he set me to the side so suddenly. "You stay here while I handle this."
