I was just finishing up with some editing work, I had stayed a bit later to get everything done. I only do simple cuts, subtitles, and time-lapse kinda things because I also help record. I joined the Smosh team just a month ago, hence why my workload is so low.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to be a full time editor or recorder, so they let me do a bit of both to test the waters, which I was forever thankful for.

"Y/N, what are you still doing here?" Damien asks as he packed up a few of his things.

"I could ask you the same." I joked. "Anyway, I'm just finishing up a few edits. Oh by the way what did you say here? Your voice is muffled." I unplugged my headphones to let him hear and showed him the screen.

"Oh, I said 'that's kinda hard to do with an anime addiction'." He laughed.

I laughed to myself as I added the subtitle.

"Alright just don't stay here too long." He said, heading to the door.

"Actually, I just needed to do that one thing. Could you give me a ride? I don't feel like getting another Uber." I asked, grabbing my small backpack I use as a purse.

"No problem." He said, holding the front door open for me.

I slide into the passenger seat. "Don't mind all the anime stickers." He shook his head and cringed to himself.

"No that's fine." I said. I was a pretty huge anime fan myself. Although I hadn't gotten comfortable enough in the office to start showing it. "Aw, is that baby Bakugou?" I asked, pouting to a rather cute sticker.

"Yeah, you watch?" He asked a bit surprised as he pulled out of the lot.

"Yeah. I just didn't feel comfortable enough yet to-"

Damien cut into my sentence. "Seatbelt."

I didn't realize I had forgotten my seatbelt, I usually put it on as soon as I get in the car. "Oh yeah, sorry." I said as I buckled in. "Anyway I haven't felt like comfortable enough to basically be anything but an employee. My last job didn't allow to have a personality."

"Well we are nothing like that. Personality is everything. I wouldn't mind getting to know you, you seem pretty cool. Well I guess you've got to be if you watch anime." He laughed. "Wait shit, where do you live?" He asked, probably realizing he was on the way to his house.

"Uhm, actually I just moved in lemme text my roommate." I pulled out my phone and texted Angela, a girl I'd known since we were kids. We both dreamed of moving to California since we met a girl named Sara who always talked about how amazing it was.
Y: you
A: Angela

Y: Whats our address again? I left the paper at home.

A: uhm actually could you find a place to stay the night?

Y: why?

A: I've got a guy over and the walls are thin. 😶

Y: gross.

A: I'll take that as a yes?

Y: yah

"Uhm...where's the closest hotel? Even a motel could work." I said shaking my head. We had parked in a random parking lot of a closed restaurant so we wouldn't waste gas.

"Everything good?" Damien asked.

"Yeah. My roommates got a guy over." I nodded.

"Ohh." His eyes widened as he realized. "I don't want you wasting money on a hotel. I'm sure you can spend a night at mine."
