Road Trip PT. 1

I was sitting at my desk, doing some work when Mari came in. "Hey, y/n! Wanna do something fun?" She walked over to my desk and put her hand on my shoulder.

"Uh, what is it?" I asked.

"A road trip! A bunch of us are going and we need one more person to get the most use out of the rented rooms. Plus, we all want you there"

I laughed. "Nice save Mari. Who's going?"

"Well Theres me, Courtney, Damien, Ian, Wes, Shayne, Noah, and hopefully you?" She asked.

"Sure. When are we leaving and where are we going?" I had never gone on a large road trip before but hearing the word 'room' made me feel much more comfortable. Maybe we'd be staying in a nice hotel.

"We're kinda leaving today..." Mari said quietly. "In like five hours."

"Seriously? Why couldn't you ask me earlier?" I turned off my computer and stood up, grabbing my bag. I was gonna go back home to try and pack quickly. I liked to be able to plan everything out. Five hours would be way too little time to do it right.

"Sorry?" She said, laughing a little.

"Tell Ian im leaving early to pack." I say quickly before leaving and getting into my car.

I check the time and see it's 12:26, I've got around four and a half hours. I call Mari and put her on speaker as I pack. I ask her what I should pack and just how much I needed.

I repacked my bag maybe a dozen times before finally being happy with it. I grabbed another bag that I'd use during the car ride. Mari said it'd be a pretty long one so I should bring stuff to keep me occupied.

I threw my Nintendo switch, a book, my phone charger, and my notebook into the bag. I also packed some lip balm, lotion, hand sanitizer, tissues, and gum in the bag. I decided I'd buy snacks on the way to the office. That's where we were leaving.

Mari told me she didn't know where we were going but all Ian would tell her is that it would be a long car ride.

It was already four thirty and since it took me around a half hour to get to the office, I packed my stuff and left.

When I got to the office, everyone else was already there.

"Hey, am I holding it up?" I asked rolling my suitcase over to the van.

"Oh you ended up coming." Damien looked over and smiled at me.

"Yeah, Mari convinced me just five hours ago so it's pretty surprising to me too. Anyone know where we're going?" I asked the group in general.

"Ian won't tell us." Wes said shaking his head.

I put my suit case in the trunk along with everyone else's. "I'll take the back." I said, peaking my head around the van.

"Me too!" Damien said.

"I'll join you guys in the back." Shayne piped up.

"Courtney and I take the middle!" Mari said, looking over to Courtney who smiled back.

"I'll be in front with Ian." Wes said, leaving Noah to the middle with the girls.

We all got in to the van, I sat in the left corner of the seat to let Damien and Shayne be able to talk to each other without talking over my head. Damien sat in the middle and Shayne on the other end.

I set my bag down at my feet. I had picked up a large bag of Chex Mix, a few powerades and jolly ranchers. I wanted to make sure I had enough things for a while. Since no one is telling where we're going or how long it'll take.
