Your POV
You wake up to a beautiful sunny morning. It isn't different than other mornings in Lurelin Village but something sure does feel different. You were born and raised in the tiny village of Lurelin but always wanted to explore the world. Many generations lived in the village and never really left. They always say "We have everything we need here. Plus it's dangerous out there". You know they are scared and you can't really blame them because their parents taught them the same ideas. But you, you're different. Your mom always tells you that she's afraid of your curiosity. She thinks it will get you killed one day. Honestly, you'd rather die out there while exploring then live a boring life trapped in this village.
"Sweetheart come on, time for breakfast!", your mother yells to you. She's made the same thing again, crab omelettes with rice just like every other morning. You live by the sea so seafood is the main ingredient in every meal. That's another reason you want to leave. "Thanks, Mom," you say lazily. That's when you hear a lot of chatter from outside your hut in the village square. "What's going on?" you ask, but your mom is just as confused as you. You quickly get dressed and go outside to see what the commotion is. Not much exciting happens in the village so you have to find out what it is.
"Jay, what's going on?" you ask your best friend. Jay was the most fun and exciting person in the village. You two had grown up together but he belongs to a family of serious fishers so he has less time to spend with you these days. "Some new guy just got here and is talking to the Head Chief. He seems so cool!" Jay exclaims. "I want to meet him," you confess. Most of the village teens were out waiting for the mysterious man to come back out of the Meeting Hut.
The adults had gotten bored with waiting and had other responsibilities to attend to. You wait outside for about 30 minutes before you get a glimpse of the man. Actually, he looks not much older than you. You're 17 and he looks about a year or two older than you. He is a slender yet muscular, average height boy with long blonde hair tied back in a low ponytail. He has a hard jawline and has gorgeous blue eyes like the sea but has pointy ears which means he isn't from around here. You could hear the other girls start to whisper which means you aren't the only one that thinks he was attractive.
As you continue observing him you realize he is carrying weapons and you are awestruck. The only weapons you see around here are fishing spears. The boy must have known everyone was staring at him because he turns toward the crowd and gives a shy wave, smiles, and scratches his head in slight embarrassment. The girls go wild over that but you are too interested in the bow and arrows he has slung across his back. The boys around your age were slowly losing interest possibly from jealousy or from the fact that the boy wasn't all that cool looking or manly as they hoped he'd be. You really want to talk to the boy. He could be your ticket out of here.
The boy mounts his beautiful horse and trots by the crowd of girls which you hadn't realized moved forward to get a better look. When he passes you on his horse he looks down at you and grins ever so slightly. You can feel your heart skip a beat heart and feel all the blood rushing to your face. You think you might collapse. He rides his horse toward the small Inn a little way out of the village center. You and the others all watch as the mysterious stranger leaves. Some girls leave in a hurry to tell their friends and family what they had seen. Some linger for a few minutes before leaving and some start following after him. You stay right where you are, utterly mesmerized and in a daze. Finally, your little sister comes running out asking you if you'd seen the beautiful man, snapping you out of your hypnotic state. "Yeah, I saw him alright," you tell her as you walk back home.
