Your POV
After a few seconds, you were out of the village and into the world. You have to take a minute to breathe in the air. Everything is so beautiful. You haven't gotten very far but it seems like an entirely different world. Link was telling the truth, he did like to ride fast. The wind in your hair and on your face feels so refreshing even though it still smells of salt.
"So uh... where are we going first?" you ask.
"That's for me to know and you to find out." He answers quickly.
"OK, fine then."
You make a mental note to try to limit the amount of talking you do. You are just so excited to finally have your life long dream coming true, that it is difficult to keep it inside. It doesn't take long for the sun to set and the stars to fill the beautiful night sky. At this point, you can just barely see the lights of your village turn on far in the distance.
The night brings a slight chill that causes your goosebumps to react. The cool night air isn't unbearable though, especially clinging to Link's warm back.
"Sorry to bother you, but didn't you say there is something you need to do during the evening hours?" you ask shyly.
"Yes. We have to make a quick stop. It's dangerous so you have to stay with the horse. Understand?"
You nod and the two of you continue in silence.
The world beyond your village is unbelievably beautiful. You sometimes catch yourself holding your breath in amazement. You are just enjoying the breeze and the smell of flowers when the horse abruptly stops throwing you forward a bit. Link looks back at you and tells you to stay put. He hops off the horse and, with a sword and shield in hand, silently runs toward what looks like some type of camp. You watch in terror because it seems that Link is going to attack someone's campsite.
You whisper shout "Link, stop. Leave those people alone."
He doesn't seem to hear you so you say it again but louder. When he hears you, he whips his head around scowls at you, and puts his finger to his lips, signifying you to be silent. Trying to be obedient, you stop talking and continue to watch what he is doing. You decide to further inspect the camp. Upon further inspection, you realize that the beings sleeping there are not human at all. You feel your muscles relax slightly, but then realize that Link is going to fight all those creatures by himself, so you tense up again.
Link finally reaches the campsite of the blue and red creatures. You know you have seen them before, but can't remember what they are called. You watch Link through the openings between your fingers, that have now covered your face, as he quickly stabs each monster with his sword. He does it without waking any of them. You know there was no real reason to be afraid for him. You come to the conclusion that he has done this a million times already.
With an armful of unknown objects, Link returns to you and the horse.
"What are those?", you question, pointing to the off-white, sharp, objects he is packing away in the bag attached to the horse.
"Bokoblin fangs and horns." He responds proudly.
"Oh, that's what those monsters are called. I could not remember," you state. "I've seen a couple before."
"They are really easy to kill. Especially at night after they have fallen asleep. I need their parts to create elixirs."
"I'm sorry for almost blowing your cover back there," you remark once the two of you have started moving again.
"I should have expected it. You don't know how the outside world works. Well, not yet anyway."
Those three words, "Not yet anyway", fill you with even more excitement. For better or for worse, the hard way or the easy way, you are going to learn how to survive in the outside world.
"Onward then!" you cry, stretching out your arm while pointing your finger forward.
Link seems to appreciate your enthusiasm and gives the signal to his horse to speed up. With the sudden change in speed, you have to hold on tighter to Link in order not to fall off.
"Let's try to get you a horse at the next possible opportunity, shall we. I can't have you crushing my rib cage." He jokes.
You let out a small giggle. Not sure if he was being serious or not, you also loosen your grip on him a bit.
"Sounds good to me."

*Please Read*
Hey readers!!!!!
- If you guys have any suggestions for the name of Link's horse I would be happy to hear them.
- Also, the main character will be getting a horse at some point in the future so if you have a name for that horse too that would be awesome.
- I also want to hear from you guys. Do you like the style of the second-person perspective I am writing in? I'm not loving it and I would like to possibly change it to the third person where I would be using "(y/n)" instead of "you". Please let me know how you feel.
- Lastly, I will try to get back to a routine of updating. I know I was gone for a while and with school, back in session, things have been very crazy, but I want to try to keep this story alive. I'm thinking maybe every Friday or every Saturday will be the days I post updates. But here is an early release to celebrate me finally having a new chapter.
