Your POV

As you run home you feel like you are going to faint or wake up from this amazing dream. It feels like you are running on air. You are so excited to finally be leaving. When you see your sister outside the hut you call out to her, "I did it, sis! I'm leaving right now! Help me pack!" She quickly drops her things and rushes inside with you.

You don't own much. Just a few outfits, shoes, your book, and jewelry you have gotten over the years made from seashells. With your sister's help, you are done in a couple of minutes. Since there is still space in your backpack you grab some spices and fruits to make meals with or for a snack. Once you are completely done your sister says, "I'm really going to miss you. Promise me, one day, you'll come back."

"I promise. When I know how to take care of myself, I'll come back for you, so that you can see the world too," you respond, starting to tear up. 

You quickly hug her and give her your favorite bracelet. "I love you little one. Don't forget to give mom and dad the note when they come back. Oh and if you see Jay give him his letter and birthday present from me. I'll miss you. Goodbye." And with that, you wave to your sister and run off to meet Link.

Right before you reach the village entrance you stop and think, "Is this what I really want? My whole life I've dreamed of this day, so why am I so sad?"

 You don't have much time to think because you hear your parents' voices not far. You have to leave before they catch you and convince you to stay. You run the rest of the way to the entrance and see Link waiting for you, already on his horse.

"I don't suppose you have a horse hidden somewhere do you?" He asks. "No. I've never actually ridden one," you state.

"Well, that will be the first thing we do. Hop on." He says cooly while patting the space on the saddle behind him. You don't have any other options. Either ride with Link or walk. You had seen how Link got on his horse before so you somewhat know how to get up. The scary part is actually being so close to him. You are suddenly hit with an intoxicating scent as you position yourself behind Link. "All set?" He asks and you nod in reply too nervous to speak. "You are going to want to hold on. We like to go fast." He adds.

Just before you start moving you hear some commotion behind you. "EW! You're taking her with you? Out of all the girls you could have picked, you pick that nerd." Mei, one of the village elders' daughters, screeches.

"At least she has a brain." Link retorts. Mei then storms off leaving you and Link to laugh at her stupidity together. You look back at your home one last time. You see Jay coming back from fishing, your parents heading home, and your sister crying at the door to your house waving. You wave one last time and whisper to Link "Ok, let's go."
