Your POVThe rest of the day was painfully uneventful. You walk along the beach gathering seashells and meet up with Jay to talk about the morning. He soon has to leave to fish with his father so you decide to go for a walk toward the Inn to see if the boy is anywhere to be seen. You stop dead in your tracks when you see the village brats flirting with him. You turn around quickly and head back home not ready for confrontation. You're not really sure why but you can't get him out of your head.
When you get back, it is about time to start prepping for the village feast which is held every once in a while. Each family has to bring a dish, so you help your sister cook while your mom watches over your baby brother. Your father is out harvesting shellfish as usual. Your sister and you make a huge pot of clam chowder for the feast and start packing it up so that you can move it to the buffet table outside. Out of the corner of your eye, you see a flash of brightly colored hair which is uncommon in the village. It has to be the boy. "I'll be right back," you tell your sister as you hurry after the boy.
"Hello!" you exclaim, "You made quite the entrance this morning!" He chuckles a bit. "Are you staying for the feast?" He nods. "Oh good! The food is really good here. Well if you like seafood. I've grown tired of it because it's the same thing every day but that's just me."
He smiles unsure of what to say. You are rambling and making him slightly uncomfortable. "Sorry, I just wanted to ask your name," you ask. He answers, "Link".
"Nice to meet you, Link. I'm _(Y/N)_. I hope you enjoy our little village and the food. See ya around." you say and wave goodbye as you jog back to your hut.
"That was painful to watch," your sister teases. "Are you thinking of asking him to take you with him? I know how much you want to leave this village and he could be your way out." She whispers.
"Yeah I was kind of thinking about it but I'm not so sure. I can't leave you. You're one of the best things about the village," you say.
"I think you should ask. Sis, I know you were made to do so much more than just rot in this village like the rest of us. I don't want you to go, but I think it would be best. Or else you'll regret it. Plus, you don't have to worry about me. I'll be fine here," She whispers again making sure our mother can't hear.
"Wow, when did my thirteen-year-old sister become so wise?" you joke as you wrap your arm around her shoulder. You have a feeling she is right though. You can't stay here much longer. If you don't leave soon, another chance may never come.
