Saturday.

The day I am going on a date with Shane.

Ah!

I hop in the shower, actually taking time to fully clean myself, instead of quickly washing.

Shane told me not to wear anything I would mind getting wet or dirty, so I wore some dark ripped jeans with an old, cuteish t-shirt, and some black vans.

I attempted to style my hair, and soon I got it looking presentable. I brush my teeth, grab my phone and wallet and head downstairs.

"Ryland Bruce Adams. Where the hell do you think your going?" My dad asks with a skeptical look on his face.

"Huh?" I wonder, being that he never acts like that.

"I'm kidding kiddo! Go! Get high, get drunk, go have sex!" He jokes, and I roll my eyes.

"I'm doing absolutely none of those things." I tell him, and he scoffs with a smile.

"You're officially disowned!" He says jokingly, and I laugh.

"Love you!" I yell, heading out the lobby doors.

"Love you too!" He yells, and I smile warmly at him.

I decide to walk, being that it's a nice day outside and I'd rather not waist the gas on going somewhere that it would take 25 minutes minutes to walk to.

*****

I step into the field of flowers, and I see his beautiful auburn hair.

I see him sitting on top of a picnic blanket, right next to the blossom tree, with a basket of food.

I sit next to him and he smiles at me.

"Hi Ry!" He yells, making my heart flutter at the nickname.

He jumps into my arms, knocking me off my feet.

"Hey Shaney." I say, and he blushes.

"Shaney. I love it. It's cute." He coos, complimenting the nickname I gave him.

He gets off of me and wipes the grass off of him.

Then, he digs in the basket, and pulls out some PB&J's and BLT's. He also pulls out macaroni, potato salad, mash potatoes, and some apple juice for us to drink.

"This is the most innocent meal ever." I say, and Shane giggles.

We eat and joke around, enjoying each other's company.

"I hope your not full, cause I still have dessert!" Shane says, in a singsong tone.

Then, he proceeds to dig in the basket, and pull out a mini chocolate cake, perfect for two, that says, "first date" with a frosted pink heart.

"Your are the cutest, sweetest thing I've ever seen." I say sweetly, and he blushes, sticking his tongue out at me teasingly.

We eat the cake, and suddenly Shane gets up.

He starts walking into the lake and I smile.

"Wait! Don't you mind getting your sweater wet?" I ask, looking at how cute his rainbow sweater is.
