Y/N POV

As you stepped, or more like crutched, into the elevator, your heart falters slightly. The last time you ended up in one of these it was a bad situation. But this time, you're not suffering from insurmountable pain, which is nice.

You hit the button for Skeppy's floor and then realize you don't have the key to his apartment. So you'll have to talk to him even though you don't want to.

I am not smart sometimes. Well, actually I'm never smart. This is one of my dumbest moments though. For sure.

To get Zak's current annoyingness out of your mind, you begin to think about the strange things you keep hearing. The weird voices that keep entering your brain that you aren't making yourself.

Where are they coming from? And why could I never hear them before? The accident didn't somehow cause this to happen, did it?

You shake your head to clear these thoughts just as the elevator reaches the correct floor. You step off and head towards Skeppy's door, to check and make sure it's locked and you can't get in.

You were right. It's locked.

Gosh dang it.

I should probably go upstairs. Y/n has no way to get in and lay down. She needs to rest, doctor's orders. And even though I'm upset at her right now I have to take care of her.

You glance around the hall wildly. No one else is there besides you. It's that voice again. And there's no way that wasn't Zak.

Is Zak somehow communicating with me telepathically? That doesn't make sense. There has to be a rational explanation for this. I'm not crazy.

You hear the elevator start to move downwards, probably because Zak pressed the button.

Should I tell him this is happening? No. I can't. He's still mad at me and I'm still mad at him. And he'll think I'm crazy.

The elevator doors open to reveal your boyfriend. He still looks angry, but less than before.

I'm the one who gets to be angry, not him. I didn't do anything wrong.

Zak starts to speak. "Y/n, I think-"

But you interrupt him. "Please don't talk to me right now, okay? I just want to sleep. I can't handle this." You sigh loudly. "Just open the door."

"No."

I'm not letting her go inside until we solve this thing.

You look at him, confused. "What do you mean no? I'm tired Zak. Let me in."

"Nope!"

You glare at him.

She's so cute when she's mad.

"Zak, I'm serious! This is no time for jokes! I'm supposed to rest!"

Now it's his turn to be confused. "What joke? I didn't make a joke..."

Oh shit. Did he not say that out loud? Crap. Okay. Just play it cool.

"Whatever! Just please unlock the stupid door," you retort, crossing your arms across your chest.

"Okay, weirdo." He crossed in front of you and opens the door. You hurry inside and flop yourself into the couch, tired and still recovering from surgery.

"Dude! Be careful when you're sitting down! You'll hurt yourself!" Skeppy exclaims, opening a cabinet in the kitchen. He pulls out a cup and begins to fill it with water, presumably for you.

"Yeah, yeah," you mumble quietly.

"Now are we gonna talk about this or what?" He plops himself into the sofa next to you, spilling the cup of water on himself. "Bruh."

You smile, but pick up a pillow to hide it. You're still upset at him and he shouldn't get off that easy.

"Really? I spill water everywhere and still no reaction? Jeez you really are mad."

Still, silence.

"I'm sorry?" He says softly, looking over at you hopefully. "Y/n! I'm sorry!"

You turn to face him finally. "I know you're only saying that because you don't want me to be mad at you."

He shakes his head wildly back and forth as a no. "Noooooo I would never do such a thing!"

She knows me so well.

"I know you too well to believe that, silly."

Zak grins. "You just read my mind."

Your heart drops.

"Wha-what?"

"You just said exactly what I was thinking! You really do know me well!"

"Oh, haha. Yeah..."

Skep flicks on the tv and you watch it together for a while. After a few episodes of Modern Family, you notice that he has fallen asleep. Gentle snores bounce off the walls of his apartment.

You sigh and close your eyes, happy to be alive and in good company, no matter how much that company annoys you sometimes.
