That went on for a couple days. Lia had wondered about the same thing everyday. you know that one meme where it's like: "they ask you how you are and you just have to say that you're fine, but you're not actually fine." frankly, that's what lia felt like.
"jisu-ah! are you sure you're fine??" was a very common question to lia for the past few days. all she could do was shrug and nod. "what are you talking about? of course i'm fine!" was what she replied to all questions. fortunately, no one wants to pressure her which was kinda a 50-50 situation.
zoning out again, lia heaved out a sigh as she watched the birds fly with one thing in her mind. that one particular thing. she was so deep in thought that she didn't notice soobin sneaking up behind her and giving her a big back hug.
"wachu doing?" soobin singsonged. "uh... i was.. BIRD WATCHING! yeah!" lia exclaimed. that wasn't technically a lie, but soobin isn't stupid.
"okay, what's up?" he asked, taking a seat in front of the girl. "huh? what? what do you mean?" lia asked. "you know what i mean. what's in your head?" he asked which earned a long sigh from the girl.
"it's just... i was just.. you know.. wondering something..." lia confessed which made soobin raise his brow, "what something? what are you thinking about?" he asked. lia sighed again, she knew she can't keep it to herself forever- especially because she is too obvious.
"do you remember when i got into the accident?" she asked. soobin nodded, getting comfortable in front of lia as he gesture her to continue. "its that.. driver.. the one who.. you know.. hit me?" lia asked.
"what about them?" soobin asked. "what happened to him? it's like- he just.. disappeared..?" lia explained. "do you know anything about him?" she asked. "anything at all?"
"i wish i knew.. i was like- 4 when it happened!" soobin groaned. "does your parents know about it?" lia asked. "oh you don't know how much they try to avoid that specific topic. i don't know.. probably they are hiding something from me.." soobin explained which earned a frustrated groan from lia.
"i think we need to confront them!"

flashback
The man was driving his truck, whistling as he drove back to his house. his whistling was interrupted by his ringtone. the man picked up his phone and smiled as he saw his wife's contact name shown on the screen. "hello?" he called.
"when are you coming home? our son turned 4! you don't want to miss the cake!" his wife asked.
"i'm on the way, hun. don't worry i'm almost there!" he said reassuringly. "alright. just be home fast! he's playing with his best friend so that should give us time to set up everything." his wife explained which earned a hum from him. "alright. hold on a minute. i'll be home soon." he said before ending the call.
"binnie! you can't catch me!!"
yelled a little girl. the man was distracted from his phone call that he didn't notice her being in front of him. heck, he didn't notice the traffic light turning red. the man screeched in panic and tried to stir his truck away. but it was too late..
and what did he do? he ran away- abandoning his truck and ran home.
