The next day Yunlan followed Wei to his house again. It felt weird, they didn't even wait for their coworkers to go first, they just headed out together as soon as they were ready.

Now that everyone knew that he was living with his fiancee, Wei thought it only looked normal that Yunlan went to their house to teach her.

They opened the door and a storm assaulted them, Qiqi took Wei's arm yelling: "I understood him! I really did!"

Two confused faces turned to her then Yunlan said, "You understood someone speaking Italian? How is that possible?"

She giggled. "Ok, I understood just one word, but it's a start right?"

Yunlan laughed. "What happened?"

"He asked something in Italian as he usually does, then he began rolling his eyes and I knew he was about to repeat it in English, but I caught the word 'bolle' and didn't wait, I checked if the water was boiling and told him 'yes'. He was so surprised! I explained that I'll give it my best to learn Italian as quickly as I can, and he gave me a nod and a half-smile. L... All the other staff members looked impressed as well!"

Wei had listened without a word, now he turned to Yunlan. "It's amazing, she learned only a few words and they were actually useful! How did you know where to start?"
Yunlan laughed again. "This is Italy, it's very important that the water boils before you throw the pasta in!"

Qiqi laughed along and Wei smiled. They sat to work again and Yunlan taught her a few ingredients names.
Half-way through Wei excused himself to go to the bathroom, and Yunlan's face became serious.

"So, how do you like living here? With Wei?"

She studied him then said, "You know that we're just friends right?"

"Yeah, but you live together, you... sleep together..."

"We sleep on the same bed, away from each other as possible; neither of us is... interested in doing anything else."

Yunlan buried one hand in his hair, of course he knew that already, but it didn't change the fact that he wanted to be the one sleeping in Wei's bed, waking up beside him the next day.

"I was the one offering to share the bed, not him," she added.

"Why did you? Trusting a man you don't even know to be so close to you, no other woman would have done that."

"Well, for a while I did keep my rolling pin beside me just in case, but don't tell him that, okay?"
She laughed and he joined her. "You packed a rolling pin?"

"I like my dumplings!" She said in a serious tone before laughing again then she turned back serious.
"But I believed him when he told me he was gay so I thought I had nothing to fear... that's not all, I also trusted Chu's words about his character. He spoke of him with so much fondness I almost felt like I knew him already before I met him."

"Do you know Chu well?"
She gave a soft laugh. "Actually no, but we've spent a lot of time together before I arrived here; he's a sturdy-looking big man, he has a deep voice and huge hands, but his eyes are kind, he's like a gentle giant."
She giggled at her last statement, then went on.

"Please be patient," she told him. "Wei is... I don't know, there's something troubling him, but he's also pure and kind, it took only a few words and basic politeness to make him treat me like we had been friends forever. I'm very fond of him, but you have nothing to worry about, he really likes you."

Yunlan looked at her, he knew a little about that 'something' that was troubling Wei and somehow he felt good that she seemed to know less than he did, but her last words troubled him. Wei really was a trusting person, he believed everything that was said to him, and he wondered against himself if he was really special to Wei or if he was just the only one going after him.
