BeiBei covered her red cheek with her hand, her mouth distorted, she was furious.

Lisa didn't back down, who was this hoe to call her girlfriend a bitch?

BeiBei tried to slap her back, Lisa wanted to stop her and on instinct she pushed her off so BeiBei's hand only slapped the air.

BeiBei shouted Chinese words that Lisa didn't understand, not that she cared to, she raised her leg and stomped on BeiBei's foot with all her weight. BeiBei's pretty sandals didn't offer much protection and it hurt more than the slap.

BeiBei screamed in anger and pain and limped forward, Lisa prepared herself but the two girls were pulled away from each other.

Feng couldn't wait to be away from there so he grabbed his wife and pulled her up in his arms to carry her away. Left behind, Jiu shot a hateful look at them all then hurried to join them.

Qiqi couldn't do the same, Lisa was bigger and heavier than she was, but Yunlan could at least block her arms and pull her back.

"Take Wei home, I'll excuse ourselves with the boss and join you," he told Qiqi and she obeyed.

He went back inside and straight to the office. He told Mr. Chen that Wei was unwell so Qiqi asked him to take him home.

"If he is unwell I guess he should stay home, health is important," Mr. Chen mumbled, "but you come back here or I'll take a day off your paycheck."

"Thank you sir," Yunlan replied automatically already thinking about Wei. He hurried to Wei's apartment wondering if he should check the internet to see if there were suggestions for his current situation, but he gave up on the idea, unfortunately it was impossible for him to find the right answer if he didn't even know the right question.

He wished a 'how-to-deal-with-a-Wei-guidebook' existed.

Maybe he didn't need it though. He thought back at what had happened, how afraid he had been that Wei might break down, run away or cry or maybe scream, but Wei had stayed composed and had told the jerk that he didn't do anything.

Maybe Yunlan didn't need to worry so much anymore, maybe his Wei was really growing up to stand on his feet and fight for himself. Not that he would ever need to do it on his own, Yunlan had no intention of ever leaving him. He loved him more and more every passing day.

If Wei didn't love himself, could Yunlan love him enough for the both of them?
Could his love give him enough strength to hold his head high and live on?

From what Yunlan knew, Wei had never been able to fight Jiu's words but today he had tried. That fact filled Yunlan's heart with hope, Wei's voice had been cracked but perfectly audible, he had finally done what he should have done years ago.

He was still thinking of Wei finally defending himself when he arrived at Wei's apartment, he knocked and Lisa opened the door. Yunlan frowned and looked around for Wei but didn't see him.

Lisa pointed a finger towards the wall beside the door, so Yunlan entered and saw Wei sitting on the floor with his back to the wall, his face in his knees and his hands in his hair.

Yunlan was on him in a second, he pulled him up and hugged him.
"You did it! I'm so proud of you!"

Wei was shocked as never before in his life.

"You... you are? Why? I..."

"You told him! You looked at him and defended yourself! You would have told it all to his face if the catfight hadn't interrupted you."

"I... I would?"

"If they thought they'd have it easy they were damn wrong, my Wei is stronger now, hah! You showed them!"
