The Letter for Qui

Qui sat in class, tapping her pencil on her desk. This stupid magic history class...ugggh....why did she take this again?
She just wanted to go home.

A century later the school day was over and she ran home.
"Dad!"
"What?"
"I'm writing my letter to the castle!"
"Good luck! And don't forget to practice!"
"I know." She went up to her neatly organised room and pulled out a pencil, eraser, paper, and her instrument case from under the bed. Sitting at her desk, she got everything ready to write and had her instrument ready on her bed.
Dear King Mizerach,
Please allow me to use a small portion of your time to make a request.
She tapped her pencil against her lip. Could asking him for things be rude?
"I don't hear your practicing!"
"I will when I'm done, dad!" She leaned over the letter.
I would love to become your royal bard. I would fill this slot as well as I can. Unless this slot has been filled already, and if so, I apologize for wasting your valuable time.
I would do my best with my violin to meet your wants and needs.
Thank you for your time.
-Qui
"Where's that sweet violin, Qui!"
"Workin!" She grabbed her black violin in one hand, the bow in the other, and started playing Phantom of the Opera from memory, adding her own little cool edits to it. Her dad applauded her downstairs. When she was done she put the letter in the mailbox and hoped for the best.

The next day was misery.
Salix, her ranger 'friend', shot her in the butt. It hurt a lot more than someone would expect. Also, that day she almost pulled the horsehair out of her bow.
Additionally, the bully barbarian Grug nearly crushed her arm with his war hammer.
Also, the teacher was showing the class how to swing a wizard staff to cast fireball and set her on fire.
To put it simply, she really didn't need the rain of acid to destroy her backpack. All that she had left was her violin.
When she got home she ran into her room and cried. Today was just.....shit.

The next day she set herself aflame, destroyed her pants, and had to wear a skirt made from her sweater wrapped around her waist. She wasn't sure why her teachers didn't comment, but the day went by smoothly after.
When she got home she went upstairs and took a shower to relax herself. When she got out, she put on a bathrobe, fluffy socks and slippers, and a warm shirt and pants.
She went downstairs to the computer room where her dad was finishing taking care of stain and rubber gloves.
"Hey dad."
"Hi. Bend over." She gave him a glare and he smiled. "The mail's right there." He indicated where with his head. "Not sure if any's yours." He took care of the stain and put the glove box next to his picture frame. There was two ad catalogs, a bill, and-
A letter for her.
It looked like a normal envelope on the front, but the back had a large red wax seal with the pattern of little sparks on it.
The seal of Mizerach.
She opened the envelope carefully, nervous about the contents. Was it a rejection? Probably.
Dear Lady Qui,
I have read your letter and talked to my council before coming to my decision. We have decided to accept your request and would love for you to join us as our royal bard at Mizerach Castle, your new home, as soon as possible.
See you soon.
-King Mizerach
P.S. I appreciate your respect.
She took a deep breath and almost screamed with joy. They accepted her? Without even interviewing her?
"Dad! Dad! Daddaddaddaddad!"
"What?"
"I got the part!"
"The king accepted you?"
"Yes! Yes, daddy, they did!" She wrapped her arms around him and cried in joy. She could hear her dad sniffle. "What's wrong?"
"I'm so proud of you....if only your mother could see you now...my little girl..."
"Ohmygosh! I need to get packed and get going! They want me as soon as possible!"
"Before you go, I need you to promise me something." He put his hands on her shoulders like he did when she was little. She was 16.
"Yes?" She met his wet brown eyes with her bright robin eyed blue ones.
"Don't forget about me. Come back and see me sometime, ok?"
"I will, dad." He kissed her nose and she ran to get a back packed with her clothes, computer, and some other prized belongings. She ran downstairs and smiled at him, bag on her back and her violin case in hand with the letter. He smiled, seeing that she changed her robes to a pretty short sleeve and a skirt. He drove her to the castle and dropped her off at the gates after kissing her and crying. He waved and drove away.
"Don't forget about our promise!"
"I won't! Love you!"
"Love you!"
Qui turned to the castle, holding her letter tightly and walked up to the guard at the gate. She showed her it, and the gates opened. She stood in front of the  doors to the court room from the outside. She took a deep breath.
Finally.
Qui let out that breath and shoved the doors open.
