Qui found a figure facedown in red blood. It wasn't Whisper.
"What was that scream?"
"To see if you cared." He smiled darkly, purple the light returning to his hand. She huffed and stood by his side.
"Who is that and why did you kill them?"
"He came at me with a knife. He died. The end. Let's go."
"You find nothing wrong with taking lives, do you?"
"Of course I do. Any sane person would, Qui, and I am sane. I think." They walked onwards.
"Why did you call me those nasty words?"
"I did the screaming thing to see if you still cared, even though I just called you a-"
"I know what you called me. Cocksucker."
"I said cumdrinker, not-"
"Oooooh, I know. Cocksucker." He gave her a look and walked on until they came to a well lit room. The fire went out.
The room was lit by light green hanging gems that were attached to the roof of the cavern. A figure stood in the middle, holding a glowing white orb in one hand.
"Hey you!" Qui called. The black female figure turned with a shit eating grin. In her other hand was long sword. Katana? Whatever it was, it was bloody.
"Yes?" Her voice was nails...no, it was worse than nails. It was like claws and teeth against chalkboards and cement.
"Put down the gemstone orb!"
"No."
"Please?" Whisper asked sarcastically, pulling out his cards and shuffling them together. Qui couldn't tell if it was out of nervousness or it was for some form of magic thing.
"No." She pocketed it and tightened her now two handed grip on her sword. This figure wore bulky leather armor, combat boots, and dark green hair in a tight ponytail. She charged Qui.
She flung herself backwards to avoid the blade and whipped out her trusty violin and bow. What to play...something sad! Qui put away her violin, thinking.
The cards from Whisper's hands went flying all around, striking the attacker repeatedly, again and again, as if the cards were made out of saws as they cut her open. She flailed wildly, finally got close, and swung her sword like a bat at him, and out of surprise he froze.
SHING!
A long piece of flesh hit the floor.
His right arm, from the shoulder down, was on the floor.
Everybody stared at it, surprised. Whisper was going pale in the face, watching his navy blood pour from his shoulder.
"Oh." He hit the floor. Crap.
"One down, one to go." Qui charged the woman, slid around her, and picked up the fallen arm. She started beating the woman with it until she fell out cold somehow. Magical arm weapons!
Qui knelt to the bleeding man and touched his face gently wit her fingertips.
"Hey, you'll be ok, don't die, ok? Just stay with me...don't bleed to death..." Magic was working itself around the stump from his ears, making a thin flesh layer to stop the blood. Qui touched the magic gently.
A flow of blue magic whirled around her and forced some memories from Whisper into Qui."Please....no more..." He looked down to see his bloody hands, covered in cuts and scars. The man in the long black cloak laughed and fixed his top hat marked with a huge red x.
"Oh, a beggar, are you? Even Abi and Bailey didn't cry this much! You're pathetic!" He looked down into a puddle of tears and blood. This prison cell was starting to make him claustrophobic.
"No...leave Abi alone!"
"But not Bailey?"
"And Bailey!"
"You're not in the position to demand, slave." The whip struck him in the face and he screamed.
"No more!"
"You know, Nefithes and Jimba suffer for you. You don't appreciate them!" The memory warped to a circus tent, behind a curtain, still his point of view, first person.
"Get up." He got to his feet and looked around, only to realize he was without someone.
"Where is she?" He flattened his ragtag jester suit.
"Nefithes is gone. Get up. It's time."
"Where is she? She's with me!"
"Now you're with ME."
"No...I can't..."
"She already went." He was looking for her as the curtain opened. The crowd looked angered.
"Now SING."
"I..I can't...please..."
"DO IT." He started mouthing words desperately as he slammed a walking stick over his head. He fell to his knees, crying. Where was she? The man smiled and two black lions appeared next to him.
The audience watched the crying creature and, as one, yelled. "HEY! GET UP, YOU WORTHLESS CIRCUS MONSTER!"
He got up and the lions snarled.
"Please, Hika...Hua....don't..." The man laughed. A female voice sang and he turned to find her. The lions went nuts as he stepped away and tackled him.
"Where are you?" He called weakly, crying as the crowd repeated the screams and the man laughed.
The memories stopped flowing and Whisper was sitting up. He stared at Qui, who shook. What where those terrible memories?
"Not one word of this to the others." He said quietly. She nodded numbly and helped him to his feet. He looked behind her and looked afraid.
"MOVE!" He shoved her aside with one hand, almost causing her to hit the ground.
SHING!
