Winterfrost, a world that has been cursed to have an eternal winter. Life in this world is hard and is likely a lifeless place. Some people may fancy having snow in their place but unlimited cold is not really good. Our world is balanced by the one who created it. There are four seasons while some only have two and mainly there are the warm and cold seasons.

In this world, most of the population does not have hope in life and mainly just live their own with their daily routine of waking up at 5 in the morning, taking breakfast then take a warm bat, fix themselves then start working while at 12 noon, they will have their breakfast then continue their work after half an hour however in the evening, they first take their supper and after which, they start to create fire which will start in a bonfire in the center of their village then all villagers will take up a torch and lighten them up from the bonfire and they will deliver these to their homes’ outside doors to light them up. The bonfire in their village symbolizes life and it also helps them to have a little heat to go against the strong cold.

You might be thinking about what their homes look like. It is like an igloo however it is much bigger than an ordinary one and inside, it can gather five or more people while there are two rooms in each homes. I have called their home like an igloo due to the form and structure of it so please take note on that. In addition, there are some homes which have undergrounds for some purposes. Outside their homes, there are two torch bearers; one in the left side of the door while the other is obviously in the right. Inside their home, there is a big lamp at the center to give light inside (they prefer to have lamps due to being a much safer to use than an open fire to light their homes). Each home inside has a total of five torch bearers: one in the kitchen, one for each (two) bedrooms and two for the dining. Before they sleep, they tend to gather all members of the family and pray for the curse to wore off but that was more than a decade to go for at present, this place (as I have mentioned above) does cease to have faith (while not all of course). At the present, they clean their dishes, prepare for tomorrow’s work and turn off the lights before they go and rest.

In this perilous place, there are some people who still have their hope and there is one in particular that has the strongest faith in all of them though she might not show it to everyone in the village. Her name is Ginny and she is an eighteen year-old girl who has a lot of dreams in her life and the one in particular is to have a perfect day (in her mind, she would like to see a day wherein their place will be peaceful filled with hope, angels will be seen with their own eyes, Christmas will finally come to life, love will be a movement to inspire everyone and of course, the curse of eternal winter will finally meet its end). These dreams are unlikely to most of us here on earth and there might be people who will declare that these are childish and just fictional dreams that will never come true but for her, this is a dream that she will hold till her last breath (till her dreams will come true).

Significant to her dreams, her closest friend shares the same dream that she has. Peter is his name and he is a year older than Ginny. They are close as brothers and sisters, treats each other with respect and faithful to their beliefs. Many people tease them though they are still young at their age so they do not really care about what people think about them. For them, their friendship is much more important than what people think. Both share stories with each other and spend time with each other every day also with some of their friends. As they grow older (to be clear, before the present day and I am referring when they are still little kids between the ages of 7 and 10) their dreams began to spark and to grow stronger. Though many would tell them that their dreams will not come true, they never cease to believe that their wishes will come true.

At present time, the curse is still alive and it’s getting stronger. More people become ill with different sickness while some perish and die due to the fact that they cannot handle the wintry temperature anymore. Christmas is getting nearer and most of them do not feel this kind of season anymore (to be honest, they do not feel any season, even the day when they were born, they do not celebrate it anymore). To be honest, it’s been hundred years since they have celebrated Christmas. That is the very reason why people in that place has lost their hopes that the curse will end.

“Just have an inspiration” Ginny said as she and Peter are in the bonfire at dawn spending time with each other while all people are resting in their homes. This is a quote or likely Ginny’s motto in life as she believes that having an inspiration in life motivates people and is a movement to achieve what must be accomplished. Peter remained silent for a minute or two until Ginny continued “I still believe in that perspective. One day, we will see the sunshine rising again and will destroy this eternal curse that has put to us. I still believe that having an inspiration will help our people to dream again.”

“Inspiration, being inspired by Him” Peter suggested as he looked into Ginny’s eyes while she smiled back to him. “This is really a good thing for you not to cease in your dreams and on what we believe. The thing is people in this place do not have that same inspiration and perspective in life.”

“Not all of them Peter. Remember the day when the winter came? War was at hand during that time. People here in Winterfrost began fighting with each other though there are no reasons to fight. Death and desolation came to this place. Faith and belief vanished. From that day up to now, our friends and family still does not have their hope in them and there is no complete serenity and peace in this place” continued Ginny.

“Always winter” Peter interrupted.

“Never Christmas” Ginny added as she leaned on Peter’s shoulders while they began to have a nap and the fire started to sleep.
