poe couldn't sleep, he had way to much on his mind so he did the next best thing, draw. he took out his sketchbook and flipped to an open page where he started sketching his x-wing. not long later he suddenly stopped and put down his pencil to listen. he heard steps outside his room followed with some sniffles. he put his sketchbook down and went to the door. he walked out and saw finn walking down the hallway with tears in his eyes. he ran over right away, " hey finn what's wrong? you okay?"
"not really," he said as he wiped a tear off his face "but it's okay."
"no, no come to my room let's talk." he led him back down the hallway and into his room where he was met with happy beeps from bb8
"hey" he said in a disapproving voice, "didn't I tell you to go to bed?"
bb sad beep beeped in return and rolled over to a corner to power off.
"so why are you up super late wandering around the base?"
"i couldn't fall asleep"
"let me rephrase that, so why are you up super late wandering around the base about to cry? cause if you wanna talk you know i'm always here for you."
finn sighed "i had a nightmare. i know it's sounds chi-"
"it's not childish, everyone gets them, i get them. why do you think i'm still up?"
"i just didn't wanna sound stupid." he said looking down at the ground to hide the fact that tears were selling up in his eyes
"hey," poe said a as he put a hand in finns shoulder "it's okay to feel emotions and want to cry, or talk to someone. your not in the first order"
he pulls him into a hug and finn cries into his shoulder.
"you ready to try going to sleep?"
"sure, but can i sleep here?"
"of course" he said with his soft smile
they got into bed and finn fell asleep quickly. "i'll always be here for you no matter what." and kisses his cheek. poe whispered. he kisses his cheek then joined him in a deep sleep they both wish could last forever.
