I'm dangerous...

Chapter 2

As I finished my hunt, I picked up a strange scent. I've never really been by any other vampires except for my now dead creator. But I was pretty sure this wasn't a vampire. It smelt like my 5 pet dogs combined. The scent got stronger, indicating it was coming closer. I figured I should hide incase it was a predator of vampires.

I jumped into a high tree crouching down on one of the branches. Two wolves emerged from the forest's darkness. I stopped breathing so I couldn't be seen or heard. The wolves then turned into two human males. They couldn't be any older than 14. From the books I've read, I could tell they were werewolves.

"I'm telling you Jack, I smell one of them. It's so close I can possibly touch it."

"Well Sam, since it's so close, show me where it is. If this is just another one of your jokes just give up now."

"I'm not playing this time Jack. I can really feel it this time."

"Boys!? Where are you all at. Dinner's ready!" Someone in the distance yelled.

The boy Jack ran off, "see Ya man. Tonight's dinner is hamburgers and fries."

Sam took one last look around. When he looked up he stared right at me. He squinted to get a better look. The distant voice said again, "come home NOW Sam!"

He then ran back home in human speed. I jumped down from the branch. I ran back to my home in vampire speed. When I opened the door, the smell of animal blood and dog engulfed me. I was ok with the blood but not so ok with the dog smell due to the brief encounter with the wolves in the forest. I quickly grabbed a cinnamon scented candle and lit that bad boy up.

When the cinnamon over powered the dog smell I figured I could wash of some of these bad vibes and blood. I stripped off my clothes and turned the temperature to below freezing. When I stepped in, all tension washed away.

I let my hair air dry and curled up upon the love seat with a good book. I don't sleep so I had to do something useful.

***Next day***

The morning routine went the same as the previous day. I threw on some black jeans, converse shoes and Pierce the Veil tee shirt.

I left but not before fixing myself a bagel sandwich (pic 👆above or on side👉 for the web users.) and grape blood juice. That was the only breakfast that could keep me going.

When I got to the school there was 30 minutes and like yesterday, the parking lot was packed. I brung some lights to program into my locker. I also brought a picture of my parents I always kept with me.

When all the lights were set up I closed them to test them. Once I finished testing them, I went to the bathroom to check my appearance. Also to see if I was getting too pale and needed to drink some blood to look a little more... Human.

Surprisingly the bathroom wasn't as packed. Only five girls were in there. Two at the mirrors and three in the bathroom. I fixed my hair because I had a little alphalpha sticking up. I also didn't look too pale so I could probably go the rest of the day with out blood. I'll probably get a little when lunch arrives.

The warning bell for the first period rang. I went back to my locker and sped walked human speed. The first three periods went by fast and lunch came. I pulled out my iPad and popped an earbud in while reading. Since I only had one in I could feel and hear someone come and sit at my table. I slowly looked up and saw a really friendly brunette. I took out my earbud and turned off my music.

"Hi. I'm Nina. I'm part of student council and president of the FBLA group here at the school." She extended her hand.

I took it with a questioning look. After we finished I asked, "FBLA?"

"Future Business Leaders of America."

"Oh ok. Well I'm Hayden, sophomore. And I currently just take classes."

"That's cool. Would you like to be apart of anything like clubs or band or choir...?"

"No thank you. I have a lot of other activities outside of school."

"Like what? Might I ask."

I looked up to the celling. What is a regular human activity?

"Oh, nothing much. Tennis, soccer, swimming, volleyball. You know stuff like that."

"Oh ok. Well if you ever need help with directory or just need someone to talk to, just call me." She then handed me a business card with her name email and phone number, also the room number of her home room. This girl was serious about her business and apparently making friends. It was cute though. It had my favourite colour, blue, with floral designs. I give her a friendly smile and she left to go back to her table.

As I put back in my head phones. As the music started back up I picked up a strong scent. It was that dog scent again. I have nothing against dogs or werewolves but that scent was getting annoying. As two males walked past me, the scent of them almost knocked me out of my chair.

I caught the faces of the two. Oh my pickles! It was them. The two guys from last night. Uh... Jack and Sam. As they passed me they looked at me. Once our eyes met, I looked down. I couldn't deal with all this pressure. I already had many humans tempting me with their blood. It didn't help that I wasn't going to have blood until later that day aswell.

The boy Sam stopped Jack and jack must've then noticed my scent. Sam the asked me ,"Hello miss. May I please talk to you for a second. It's urgent."

"I'm sorry sir but the bell is about to ring and I need to prepare for class."

"This will only take a second. Just outside of the cafeteria."

I nodded. I figured that the faster we get this over with the faster I could get to class.and plus why would there be animosity between us when this is our first encounter.

Once we made it out of the cafeteria, they began. "What are you doing here leech?"

"Doing the same thing you are, trying to get an education."

"These humans have done nothing to you. How many have you slaughtered in your life time."

"Zero. I feed on animals. The only human blood I have access to is at blood banks and I still then don't consume the blood there."

"Well keep that in mind. We will keep a close eye on you leech."

"Can you please call me Hayden not leech, Sam and Jack."

They looked at me flabbergasted. "Yeah I know your names from the walk last night in your wolf form."

"I told you I smelt one jack!"

"What ever just stay out of trouble... Hayden."

I nodded and went to my last few periods of the day.

When I arrived home my living room light was on and the front door was open. I quickly ran in to find none other than him. I dropped my book bag on the floor and stood in awe. How could this be? How could he be here today. This is impossible! He turned around, with a confident sly smirk.

"Hello dear young one. Miss me?"
