Da thump. Da thump. Da thump. Da thump.

Standing here with our foreheads together, all I could hear was the sound of us breathing, and the loud thumping of my heart. I can't believe what I just did. I can't believe I kissed him. I never would have thought that I would just kiss him. And...and he kissed me back. It was my first kiss. My very first kiss. What does this mean for us? I waited for him to say something. He's still holding onto me by my waist.

I slowly let my hands unwrap from his neck, and let them fall to the front of his chest. I'm really nervous, and I don't want this moment to end. But I'm also really worried. I don't know what is going to happen. Will something happen? I peeked up looking through my lashes to see his laying against his cheeks. His cheeks are now a little damp as the light drizzle continued to fall on us.

I've never felt this way about anyone. This feeling that has overwhelmed me, and consumed all my thoughts. I want to touch him. I know we are touching, and we are so close, but it's not enough. It doesn't feel like it's enough. I can't even explain this to myself. I raised my hand to touch his face, caressing his cheek with my thumb. He stayed silent with his eyes closed.

"What do we do now?" I broke the silence.

I heard him take a deep breath. I'm worried about what he might say.

"We go home." I heard him say, but I think the sound of my heart shattering was louder. I lifted my head away from him, and I was about to take a step back to give us some distance.

"Come on, let's go." Kongpob suddenly grabbed my left wrist, and picked up the umbrella from the ground with his other hand. He pulled me across the street in which he came from.

"Kongpob, where are we going?" I don't know where he is taking me. I'm confused. The streets are empty, and most houses had their lights switched off at this time. And street lights were far and few in between.

"We're going home. You're cold, and shivering. I don't want you to get sick." Kongpob said without looking back. Did I hear him correctly? He is taking me to his home? At this time of the night? Wait. Wait. Wait.

I stopped walking to grab Kongpob's wrist that was holding mine. "Kongpob! Kongpob! Hold on. We can't go to your house. Well, I mean I can't go to your house."

Kongpob turned to look at me with his brows knitted, and his head tilted like I was speaking a foreign language. "Why? My house is closer than your house."

"Okay, I know that. But isn't it too late for you to bring a friend over? What would your parents say if they saw me?" I mean, really. What would his parents say, or think about their son bringing another boy home in the middle of the night? Isn't all this right now already a lot to handle already?

"Arthit, you don't need to worry about my parents. If my mom sees you all wet and cold like this, she would be the first to hug you to death. She loves all my friends. My dad sleeps like a log, but he wouldn't care one way or the another." Kongpob gave me a gentle smile. I can only nod a few times to that, and let go of his wrist.

Kongpob proceeded to pull me along while carefully holding the umbrella over our heads. Of all the words that he had just said, I can only focus on the word 'friends'. So, am I still just one of his friends? And of course if his mom sees a boy at their house, he is automatically just a friend. What else could I be?

I wordlessly followed Kongpob, looking at him from the side. His hair is also damp now. He is covering me with the umbrella more than himself, so the other half of his body is more wet. There's really no point in trying to shield me from this drizzle. I'm already wet, if not soaked. Looking at the way we are currently, it feels awkward that he is still holding onto my wrist like I would run away or something.
