Love: Yourself Challenge

Introduction!

Hello! The person featured in the picture above is yours truly! <3 My name is Britney Marie Matherne, and I am 25-years-old. I am an Asian-American, (half-Filipino, half-White), and I was born in a small town called Crestview, which is located in Florida! 😊

To be honest, I know it seems quite. . .pretentious of me, but I really wanted to share my journey of self-love with other people outside of Facebook and Instagram, and I thought this would be a good place to do so. The picture above is from the first day I started this challenge! The reason I started this Love: Yourself Challenge was not only because I wanted to see the good qualities other people saw in me, but also because I knew I was honestly getting tired of people treating me as nothing more than, quite frankly, a sexual object.

Yeah. In September of 2019, I blocked three people I thought I was close with because I started actually seeing what they really wanted me for. Someone I really thought I was close with even made me scared of being around technology for a good while because not only did he bombard my phone with messages, but when I tried to block him, he made another profile to try to talk to me! :O It was quite scary, but I am seriously glad I stuck to my decision.

This journey of self-love has really changed my life. I'm not the same person I was five months ago. I have more self-confidence, I'm chasing after my goals more, and I am appreciating my loved ones more than I ever have before. It truly makes me happy! 😊

So, with that, I am excited to share my journey with you guys, too! And if you guys want to get to know me more, you can ask me questions and I'll answer them the best I can! Maybe even dedicate several parts of this journey to do Q&As! 😊
