With Orion back in the picture, shit just got a whole lot more complicated. With him being Ascendant Primeval, that makes it even more complicated than it was. "Hey, Jace, what was with that explosion?" He says over comms. "We have a slight issue. There's an Ascendant Primeval here, and it's fucking Orion." I say. "Hold on, rephrase that," Ryan says back. "Orion's alive and he's a fucking Primeval! Get your ass down here!" I yell at him. I reload an enhanced Izanagi shot and aim. "Damnit, where's his head?" I ask myself. I locate it and before I take a shot, he throws the weapon out of my hand. I scramble to grab it, but he throws it somewhere out of my reach. "Fuck," I think. Orion now goes in to kill me quickly. I manage to dodge and hide for a bit. "Ace, do you have the Malfeasance?" I ask. He thinks for a bit again and then pulls it out. "Alright, here goes nothing," I say, aim, and fire 10 rounds. Each round connects and detonates. "Alright! Now, I just need to keep this up." I say. Ryan appears now and has the Izanagi with him. "And Ryan got the Izanagi!" He fires a shot and hits Orion square in the head. "You bastards!" He yells. The castle rumbles with his roar. "Oh fuck, this place is going down!" I yell. I run out the door and Ryan follows. We rush outside the building, Orion hot on our trail. "Ryan, give me the sniper," I say. He hands it over and I reload another Honed Edge 4 stack. As we run through the sands, I spot something. I run over and grab it. "A Ghost shell? But who's Ghost?" I ask. The Ghost hums back to life. "Who are you? You're not my Guardian! Oh, wait, my Guardian died." It says. "Well, we're being chased by an Ascendant Primeval, think you can help?" I ask it. "Oh, yes. Just a moment." It says. It flies up and starts doing its work. "Now, you aren't a Guardian, but I can make you one for long enough to where you can take this Primeval down." It says. I feel a sudden surge of energy. "Alright! I feel like I'm young and in my prime again!" I say. "Now, take down that Primeval!" The Ghost says. I stop running and aim the Izanagi. I fire and hit Orion in his head again. "Here we go," I say. I summon a Burning Maul and start melting Orion. "You bitch!" He says. Once the super goes away, Orion is near death. "Perfect," I say. He kneels, as to catch his breath. "Please, spare me," He says. I run up the side of his arm, pull out a double-barrel shotgun, place the barrel against his head, pull both triggers, and place a grenade in the hole the shotgun blast made. The hole patches up with a live grenade now stuck in his head. "You think that grenade's gonna kill me? No way, just a small explosion." He says. "Exactly, which is why I have one more trick up my sleeve. Ace?" I ask. Ace appears and hands me a card. "An Ace of Spades," I say. I activate the card and then Shepherd appears. "Put all the fire you can into his skull," I say. Shepherd then starts burning his skull. "Are you sure about this Jason? You might be killed by this." Shepherd says. "Continue. I know the risk, and sometimes? The higher the risk, the better the reward." I say. Shepherd then finishes burning his skull down and then detonates the grenade. With the grenade being amplified by Shepherd's fire, it breaks the entirety of Orion's brain. I drop off of Orion's body and fall to the ground. "We did it, Jason. We did it." Shepherd says. I smile and hit the ground hard enough to knock me out.

"Hey, Jason. Hell of a fight you were just in." Death says. "Hey. It certainly was. Anyway, here's Orion's soul, Ascendant and Primeval as well." I say. I pull out an orb, corrupted by darkness. "Damn. Well, a deal's a deal. Here's her soul." Death says. He takes out Elena's soul, and we exchange them. "Alright Orion, pass to which fate has deemed you worthy." Death says. Orion's soul starts to float toward heaven. "You must be joking, right?" I say. The soul then takes a sharp turn downwards and falls that was at full speed. "Yea, that seems about right," I say.

I wake up in a Spanish hospital. "Oh, fuck," I say as I sit up. I look around the room to see a lamp with a burned-out bulb, am armchair that looks way comfier than this hospital bed, a phone on a table, and a TV playing some kind of Spanish soap opera. I find the remote and turn the TV off. It's kinda hard to move with all this medical equipment, so I have to move carefully. I reach over for the phone and call Doc's phone number. "Doctor Kateb, may I help you?" Is what I hear when the call is picked up. "Hey Doc, it's Jason. I need transport back to Hereford form Spain. Can you help me?" I ask. "Jason? You're alive? Well, I can send a medical evac to your coordinates if you're in a hospital, but that's about it." Doc says. "That'll do. I'm in the, actually, I don't know what hospital I'm in, but just get here. Also, bring Elena's body. A bizarre request, but just do it, please." I say. "Will do, Colonel. See you in a bit." He says. "Thanks, Doc," I say and hang up. I lay back down and turn the TV back on. I flip through the channels and find nothing interesting. "Alright then. Looks like I ain't got shit to do. May as well make another call." I say and phone Ryan. "Drifter here, state your business." He says. "Hey Ryan, you should come to the hospital I'm stuck in and keep me company until Doc gets here," I say. He chuckles and hangs up the phone. After about 20 minutes or so, Ryan shows up and we talk about how our lives were after we left the Corps. After another 40 minutes pass, Doc shows up with Elena's body. He checks me out and I put my regular clothes back on. "Alright, stand back," I say. I take out Mira's soul and place it back in her body. "I hope this works..." I say to myself. She wakes up and gasps for air. She looks around and then spots me. She jumps onto me. "Jason! I missed you so much!" She says, almost crying. "I missed you too, Elena," I say. Doc and Ryan smile at us. Ryan claps a bit. "Shut the fuck up, Ryan," I say.

Elena now notices that we're in Spain. "Jason, did you ever get official citizenship in Spain?" She asks. "Yea, I had to for a mission in the Corps. Why?" I ask. "Because it's the time of the year where all citizens have to endure the government's hardest test." She says. "Alright, you two should leave. In fact, we should all leave." I say. Doc and Ryan get on the helicopter that Doc brought. I try to board, but I'm grabbed by some guy wearing a black suit with a Spanish flag on the sleeves. "Let go of me," I say, yanking my arm back. "It's the law that no citizens of this country leave while the test is in motion." He says in a low, monotone voice. "I try to fight him off, but he gasses me and Elena with some kind of gas that knocks us both out cold.
