Three months.
Three months later and Harry was still admiring Novelly from afar. Still sitting in the abandoned junk yard whilst reading and doing his homework. Three months later and nothing had changed. Gemma was still the spoiled brat around the house. Josh still beat Harry for ridiculous things, Anne still couldn't care less about her own son, and Harry still hated his life.
He rarely talked to Jasmine anymore.
He actually spent more time at the bakery, taking up extra hours. He usually only worked during the summer, but Harry's anticipation and drive to get away from this town only grew, and he needed money- so he got a part time job at the bakery.
Every morning he went to the Cafe to drink his tea and read. Jasmine started buying all of Harry's meals, so everyone in the cafe knew Harry was an on the house guest. Harry spent his lunch alone, reading again.
He finished his book. The great Gatsby. He hated the ending- he hated how Daisy didn't even show to his funeral, he hated how it ended in a murder sucicide. He hated the ending. He was hoping for a fairytale ending- where Daisy left her piece of shit husband and ran away with J Gatsby. But it didn't end that way.
Louis had been trying to get Novelly back, but of course Novelly respected herself enough to not go back to that piece of shit. Apparently Jessie and Liam don't have a thing anymore but Harry really couldn't care less. Niall and Zayn got closer over the three months because Novelly really likes Niall and introduced him to all her friends, and Zayn was one of them. Zayn remembered Niall of course (how could he forget), and they hit it off really well.
Niall liked to spend time with Zayn because he makes Niall feel like he's not such an unwanted nerd.
Harry and Niall got closer, too. Harry spends a lot of time at Niall's house, even on the weekends when he has work. He'll stay at Niall's, wake up early- go to work and then go back to Niall's house.
As for Harry and Novelly... Well... Novelly knew she had feelings for the boy but she refused to admit it to herself, and she ended up letting those feelings go. Convincing herself, Harry, and everyone around her that they were just friends. Harry's feelings didn't change, he was still madly in love with her.
They were closer now, but when they hung out- they were always in a group with other people.
Harry didn't mind, just being near her was enough for him.
Prom was also coming up. Harry wanted to ask Novelly, but he knew he would be turned down. Louis had already asked Novelly at least forty- seven- thousand times. And each time she said no. A lot of guys have asked Novelly to prom, or even asked her out, but she always turned them down. Harry knew he wouldn't have a chance.
"I think you should go for it." Jasmine said.
"I agree with her." Niall said as he sucked on his milkshake Jasmine bought for him. Harry sighed and leaned back in his booth, looking at the two very important people in front of him. Niall was just going to town on his milkshake whilst Jasmine starred Harry down.
"She's made it very clear- that we're just friends." Harry sighed.
"So? Who gives a fuck!" Niall said.
"Oh shit, sorry for cussing- damn it I did it again." Niall cursed. Jasmine laughed and shook her head.
"You're fine darling, and Harry- She can't say no to you."
"She's said no to everyone else."
"Because they aren't you." Jasmine's eyes lit up when she spoke to Harry- she loved talking about Novelly with him. She was finally able to give him her love advise.
