So, how was the cliff hanger in the previous chapter? It wasn't really a cliff hanger, but still. Good? No? Okay.. I think it was more smooth then the first chapter, but I still need to work on my writing skills. Kekeke~
◌ Chapter 3 ◌
After about five minutes, a familiar face came running down the hall towards me. "Ah, sorry I'm late. You must be the new student. I'm⎯Wait, Jem?" The male said, panting until he recognised me.
"Yeah, and what a pleasant surprise it is to see you here, Kae oppa."
The boy grinned. "Hey, now, was that sarcasm?" He asked suspiciously, and I shrugged slyly. He rolled his eyes and sighed. "Alright, but seriously, we have to take you to class," he said, motioning for me to follow him. I took my board and rolled beside him.
We had some small talk while we walked, or rather me rolling, but then we arrived at the classroom. Surprisingly, we had the same schedule. As we came in, all eyes were on me. I didn't very much appreciate that.
The teacher looked at me, then Kae, and spoke to the class in Korean. I didn't understand, but Kae translated. "She's just introducing you, so just say your name and stuff."
I nodded. "Annyeong, Jem imnida," I said, and the teacher pointed to the seat in the back by the window. I guess I'm supposed to sit there. I slowly walk to the seat, and Kae sat in front of me. Maybe school won't be so bad?
Classes shot by and lunch stumbled upon me in what seemed like minutes. I was not the best Korean speaker, so Kae wrote the notes down in English for me. And a lot of the worksheets were in Korean too, which was awesome, (note the sarcasm), though, I managed to pull through.
I sat at a table in the far back, and Kae went to sit with his friends. It sounds messed up, but I actually had to force him over there. The poor guy was stuck with me all day, he deserved to have some time with his friends.
So, I ended up falling asleep during lunch period, the only time I was awake was to finish a half eaten Snickers bar that was left in my backpack. I was jolted awake by a strong pair of firm hands.
I looked up to Kae, and he smiled. "C'mon, sleepy head. It's time for P.E.," I nodded and followed behind him, and as we walked down the halls, I couldn't help but notice the nasty glares I got from girls. She better look at something else before I take her fake face and⎯
"Jem? We're here," he said, interrupting me from my harsh thoughts. We walked into a gymnasium, and the coach was blowing her whistle.
For a coach, you'd expect a buff gal with the scariest voice ever, but this was the simple the opposite. She had kind brown eyes and long milky blonde hair, and delicate fragile body.
"Okay class, today we'll be playing volley ball, please go get ready. Boys against girls, mmkay?" She said, and her voice was soft but intimidating. Everyone did what they were told without a protest.
I had quickly changed into a pair of basketball shorts and a loose t-shirt, my head bare. I took off my hat in fear the coach would take it.
When I went back to the girls side, I got a bunch of dirty looks. I guess it was because I wasn't wearing expensive get ups and I actually wanted to win.
"Hey, why are you over here, shouldn't you be with the boys?" One girl snickered. I smiled bitterly. "Oh, sure, just after I shove my fist down your throat," I shot back sarcastically, and went back in focus. And with that, the games begun.
And let me tell you, the games were not kind and soft. Not at all. The balls flew at you with the power of a football player. The hard rubber exterior slammed into your face, leaving a slowly bruising cheek or eye. One guy even got imprints on his forehead.
