I hope your New Years was great! Also, thank you for 100+ reads in all! It may not seem that big of an achievement, but I am still very thankful. This chapter will probably be like the previous one, switching POVs, or not. (The begining is still Jem's POV) I'm not completely sure. But still, I hope you enjoy~ c:
◌ Chapter 7 ◌
I herd him say in a soft, audible whisper, "I know you still miss your home, so I wanted you to have at least this much of it."
My face heated up, but I hope it looked like it was just from the snow. I tighten my grip on his hand and feel a smile tug on my lips.
"Thanks, Yoonji," I said quietly.
Then, lights started flashing in the dark sky. The ball slowly went down along with the seconds.
"Five!" The crowed screamed. I looked at Yoonji.
"Four!" It went on. He was looking at me, too.
"Three!" Almost done. He was getting closer.
"Two!" One more second. Our noses brushed against each other.
"One!" It was a new year, and the first thing I got, was Yoonji's soft gaze and heart melting smile. He whispered in my ear, "Happy New Years, Jem."
Fireworks exploded above us, colours lighting up the sky as well. The sea of people were screaming on the top of their lungs. It was just an amazing moment. And I hope it was for the both of us.
I didn't want to leave, but after a while, Yoonji insisted. When we left the ball drop in Times Square, I felt stupid for not getting a photo. I could deal, though. Plus, I got something much more better then a picture of the scene.
We entered a five star hotel, and we still held hands tightly. He led me up to a room after getting the key. I was curious of what he was doing, but didn't mention my suspicion.
As he unlocked the door, five people jumped up and screamed, "Happy New Years!"
It was Charlotte, Sejoon, Huanji, Kae, and even Daehee. I laughed and looked at Yoonji. "You prepared all of this?" I asked. He shrugged sheepishly and smiled.
I couldn't hide me grin.
Just then, Huanji made a seductive growl(?). "Is this budding romance I see?" He said suspiciously, and the others made cat-calls.
I blushed a bright red and we separated like that. The others laughed and gestured for us to sit. We sat down across from each other, me in between Kae and Charlotte and him in between Sejoon and Huanji, Daehee at the end of the coffee table, by me, that separated us.
We chatted about plenty things, laughed for no apparent reason, until Huanji pulled out two bottles of wine.
"Young ones, I don't know if you can drink this," he said while squinting his eyes.
He was referring to Yoonji, Kae, and I, who were underage. Tch, this is New York. Here, I can get away with anything.
"It's okay, hyung. I don't want wine, anyways," Kae said innocently, Yoonji nodded with him, drinking his water. I laughed at the makanae (excluding myself, of course).
He poured glasses of wine for everyone but Kae and I, also Yoonji. I whined for being left out. He smirked at me. "Yah, Jem-ah," he called.
I said innocently in response, "Ne, Pabo oppa?"
He ignored the nickname, most likely already used to it, and gave me a look I couldn't quite figure out. "I got you a little something-something too, considering I knew you wouldn't want to be left out," he said, digging under the table and revealed a bottle of clear liquid.
