A New Cherub to Play
The angels hovered above
Playing harps, singing tunes
Of enchanted melodies of love
And peace in heavenly croons.
Elves and fairies danced on her bed
And colored jewels in a rainbow
Inside the cottage of gingerbread
And clouds made of marshmallow.
The girl slept and smiled in dreams
In her innocence of sweet childhood.
A seraph glowed with white beams
And a thunder stroke the neighborhood.
The streets revolved in guilt
Sobs and cries could be heard.
A crimson flower bloomed in the quilt
The fairies fade away blurred.
Dreams diffusely splattered
And tainted the girls room in red.
Pieces of innocence scattered
And angels weep over her bed.
Mother rocked her dead baby.
Who's still bore a smile on her face.
The girl will now dream for eternity
A seraph will hold her embrace.
The girl flutters her wings by
And wipes mother's tears away.
She whispers her momma she'll be fine.
And joined the cherubs in their play.
