RIN'S P.O.V

Despite what you might think, being the prince of demons doesn't count as cheating in this sort of exercise. And don't think I haven't tried to use my influence to my advantage; as soon as Kaminari and I broke away from the rest of the group on the hunt for something to exorcise, it was the first thing I did. And nearly the last when the hobgoblin in question tried to rip off a sizeable chunk of my face.

So, even if I wanted to, I can't cheat at this. Not that I need to of course, but it's weird. Demons always do what I say, but here we are fighting them off like a couple of helpless kids with baseball bats. Only our 'baseball bats' are swords, and it's way more effective than bonking a couple goblins on the head. Each slice earns us another point on the board, the counter for everyone's confirmed exorcisms snapped around my wrist. I'm telling you, this school is on another level in the tech department. How have we never thought of digital snap bracelets?

"Rin, to your left!" My lightning rod calls mere seconds before a demon makes a lunge for my ear. Before I can swing around to burn it to a crisp, however, a sudden explosion detonates right beside me. And, from the smoke, Bakugou and Kirishima emerge, grins gleaming as they take out the little bastard.

Which puts them one point ahead of us.

"C'mon, Okumura. Step up your game!" Kirishima calls, snarkily sticking his elbow into my waist with a chuckle. I just give him a playful shove back, rolling my eyes and gently punching his shoulder. Ow. Hardened skin, Rin, you idiot.

"You just got lucky," I grumble, even though, deep down, I know he's right. I haven't been on my game at all. This whole time, there's only one thing that's been playing on my mind- those little spurts of blue fire that keep popping up everywhere. At first, I put it down to my eyes playing tricks. But, now, suddenly demons aren't reacting to me anymore. They're not doing what I say, and they definitely aren't bowing down to my authority.

I don't wanna jump to conclusions but... Something just doesn't sit right. If I could guess without it being totally impossible, I'd say that there's someone else controlling them. Someone else like me.

Trust me, I know it's crazy. Me and Yukio are the only sons of Satan- we're the only ones who have ever been able to use his flames. At least, that's all we've ever known. Maybe... Well maybe there are more of us. I mean, what's to say Satan didn't go around having kids left and right? He wanted to create weapons after all, didn't he? That's what I was meant to be- his weapon against Assiah. So why would he only make one?

"Rin? Rin!" My thoughts are snatched away almost as quickly as I tumbled into them. Kaminari's floating around in my vision, waving his hand in front of my face with a concerned frown. "You okay? You've gone pale." Before I can go to open my mouth, out of nowhere, the ground suddenly shudders. As if an earthquake is splitting through the training arena, the entire place trembles, Kaminari almost falling flat on his ass if it weren't for Kirishima quickly propping him up with a hardened arm.

"The hell was that?" Bakugou grunts, gripping onto me to hold both of us steady. His hands almost burn my skin on contact, and, when a lurch in the earth sends him staggering into me, the sweet smell of burnt caramel twists into my nose. I swear, he smells like bonfire toffee every time he does any sort of intense training.

"No idea," Kirishima calls back, cracking a tough hand through the nearby wall and using it to keep himself standing. It takes a while, but, soon enough, I start to realise a pattern. The tremors seem to explode, settle down, then begin again. Just like-

"Footsteps."

"Big footsteps," Kaminari clarifies, finally finding his way over to me and gripping onto my other hand. "D'you think it's a demon?"

"Could be. All of you, stay behind me. If it's a demon, it might listen to me," I murmur, giving my boyfriend's hand a soft squeeze before advancing forward. If the other demons are anything to go by, this one won't obey me either, but I have to try. Although, it's not easy. Given the constant quakes, we have to practically drag ourselves forward at a decent enough pace to make it out into the light in time. In time for what? In time to see a huge foot of an equally massive demon suddenly slam into the ground mere meters from us. It takes all I have to not jolt back and pull Kaminari down with me.

"What is that?" Kirishima whispers, gawking at the creature. I can barely even describe it myself- there are all sorts of teeth coming out of every single angle on the damn thing. Tongues hang out of gaping mouths creating craters all over the demon's skin, though that doesn't at all mean it doesn't have a head. Because it's using it to ram into nearby buildings, shattering windows and sending down sheets of glass shards from the sky.

"Get back!" I cry, shielding Kaminari with my body before any of the debris can hit him. I definitely feel a few chunks of glass slam right into my back. Only a couple get the chance to assault me before Kirishima's on the case, however, the redhead rapidly hardening his skin and wrapping around our small group.

"Rin! Are you alright?"

"I'm fine. Shit- We've gotta find Yukio. I don't think this is part of our training," I stutter, about to carry on when I spot something. Something deep into the alleyway we just came from. Two blue flickers, buzzing in the din. Flames? No, they can't be. They look like someone's eyes.

"Oi, Okumura! Snap out of it!" Bakugou grunts, setting off a tiny explosion to catch my attention before it runs away from me again. With a shake of my head, the glowing orbs are gone, having probably disappeared around the corner. I want to go after them. I need to, even if it's just to prove I'm not crazy.

But then more debris comes clattering down. Kirishima staggers. The buildings around us feel as though they're going to collapse. This could be my only chance to chase those eyes.

Instead, I help prop Kirishima up. My body has already pushed the glass out of my back, and the cuts have practically healed themselves by now. So I can take a bit of the weight.

"C'mon. We need to find my brother. He'll know what to do," I murmur, mere moments before we take off into the open. I've just gotta hope Yukio can figure this out.

???'s P.O.V

"That was so close! You nearly had him!"

"I'm taking my time. You've got your job, so stick to it."

"I know. But it's fun watching them run around all scared and confused."

"Toga."

"Alright, I know. Get the blood, I'm on it."

"Good. Just stick to the plan, okay?"

"M'kay! See you on the other side~"

"Right." This is going to be interesting.
