Stepping into a new alley felt like a war zone, with people scattered everywhere
Some were laughing, as if they're not bothered,
Few were like me confused and scares yet with a smile,
Day started slow, as everyone wanted for fresher's day today follow
We danced in our nude pump and floor length dress like a kid on sugar high
The nights at hostels had their own light
Even though we missed our family, our friends had our back
Studies have never been our main concern, group studies has everything to do other than studies
First puff of cigarette, first sip of drink, first heartbreak everything was taught here for free,
Lessons for life, with no fee, as the same friend flicked your head crushing the cigarette butt shaking his head,
As the other held your head when you emptied the gut
As the other gave you a shoulder to cry your heart out,
We learnt, we realized, we accepted and moved on
As every good things end one day, this graduation day marks a milestone we came across,
A journey for life, with lots of memories to cherish is what that really kept us going in a place which we thought as nothing but a hellhole.
