"It's his girlfriendddddd" Jaden said

Payton's eyes widened.

That moment I felt my heart break.

It wasn't the first time but it hurt more then all the others.

I felt tears begin to rise to my eyes.

After what almost just happed I'd think he'd liked me. But turns out he had a girlfriend i-

"Gianna! Can you come up here really quick!" I heard mom say.

I looked at payton and Jaden whom were arguing

"Riley wasn't my girlfriend I just liked her I didn't even date her"

"Almost, and who is that?!"

I couldn't take it so I just got up and walked past payton and up the stairs to my moms room calming myself down so it doesn't look like I was about to cry.

I walked in seeing her thinking.

"Yes mom"

She looked up sighing.

"You father just got a job in Chicago and we'd go in 4days so we'd leave on Tuesday. But do you want to stay or go...if you want to stay you can stay here with your aunt or friends and he can cut the job short but we need to know now."

I didn't know how to feel about it. All my friends are here.

But Payton.

He probably has a girlfriend. And it would just hurt me even more.

"I um...I want to go..."

"Are you sure I know you like payton and -"

"No it's fine I don't even think he likes me like that" I sigh feeling tears but I calmed myself down.

"Um okay we're leaving Tuesday so ur gonna go to school Monday and get all our stuff and we'll go okay?"

I nodded and walked out walking down the stairs.

I don't know if I even want to tell payton.

"Yeah she's in town and coming back to school.-"I heard Jaden say as I walked in. Payton ended the call clearing his throat.

"So uh the bed????"

I sighed trying to act like I wasn't sad and smiled and nodded.

That night we watched movies as made tiktoks but I think Payton sensed something was up.

He'd try to put his arm around me but I'd then get up. Because I didn't want to be a burden to his relationship.

But I just ended up giving in.

The lion king played as I sighed feeling the invisible brick in my stomach that didn't go away.

I went to lean onto the couch but Payton's arm wrapped around me without me seeing.

I looked up at him this time.

He looked down at me softly.

I couldn't stay mad at him for something is heart wanted.

I smiled softly leaning into his chest his arm wrapping around me as I felt my eyes get droopy and the credits to the movie came rolling and my eyes shut.

"Your better than her anyway" I heard payton say but before I could think about it everything went black.
