"so, you're telling me that you scored the highest?"

yeosang gasped looking at the younger one who eagerly nodded. san couldn't help but feel guilty. he knew the older had worked hard on his studies but still ended up scoring the second highest.

"and you told me you hadn't studied at all."

yeosang pouted before huffing and crossing his arms across his chest, avoiding san's gaze.

"sang-ah, i am sorry."

"what? why are you sorry?"

yeosang burst into laughters as he saw the sullen look on the younger's face. he thought of continuing on teasing him but the adorable look on the younger's face made him laugh instead.

"i am so proud of you san."

yeosang gave a genuine smile opening his arms only to be scooped up by the younger.

"i thought you were mad that i scored more than you even though you studued harder."

san pouted hugging the older, resting his chin on his shoulder while yeosang continued stroking his back.

"yea, as if i didn't see you pulling all nighters just to study. you worked hard san and that shows in your result. besides, why would i be mad when my friend is the highest scorer. i have to be proud."

"sometimes, you speak like hongjoong hyung."

"hey, don't bring that love sick guy here. besides, he is my brother so i have to have some traits of his."

"let's go eat ice cream. my treat."

the younger offered and yeosang smiled widely nodding. yeosang loved eating sweets and ice cream was something he really craved right now. it was as if san read his mind and decided to treat him.

"okay."

san put his arms around yeosang's shoulder and they strolled towards the nearest ice cream parlour.

they were sitting outside the parlour engrossed in enjoying their ice cream. yeosang had ordered strawberry since he had been addicted to that flavour for a while while san was enjoying his butterscotch flavoured ice cream.

yeosang's face twitched as he felt a sudden pain rising in his chest. the spoon that he held fell and that caught san's attention who rushed to his side.

it felt as if someone was trying stretch his skin and then burning holes in it. he gritted his teeth holding onto san's hand which he probably held on too tightly.

the pain slowly subsided but he still held onto san's hand. he just wanted to feel safe. warm tears streaked down his chin. he heard san reassuring him that everything was okay.

he excused himself going to the washroom. he was scared to see what his soulmate's initials were. it had been months since the tattoo appeared but without the initials, hence he didn't pay any heed to it but now there was no turning back.

unbuttoning his shirt, he exposed the upper part of his chest just below his collar bone with intitials that were quiet unusual. he had heard people saying that it was three lettered initials but his had only two and they were glowing bright blue.

s.c

that was what it was written inside a conical thing that he didn't recognise. he threw some cold water on it hoping the burning pain would subside but it only burned more.

"are you okay?"

san asked as soon as he saw the brunette come out of the shop. his face was blank and he knew exactly what must have happened. it must be his imprint.

"who's your soulmate?"

"someone with s.c initials."

yeosang answered truthfully. san felt his heart sunk. he didn't know the reason but after knowing his initials that perfectly fitted with yeosang's name, he had started hoping for yeosang to get his initials.

of course, his destiny has decided something else for him. now yesang, would meet his soulmate and then san wouln't be able to spend time with him anymore and the worst of all san hadn't even met his own soulmate even when he was the first person to get his imprint among all his friends.

"must be scoups."

san tried joking to lighten the atmosphere around them.

"scoups of seventeen. i doubt so but if it is him i wouldn't mind."

yeosang laughed throwing the tissues in the bin waiting for san to finish his ice cream.

"what are your initials?"

"k.ys"

"could be kim yongsun."

san shrugged standing up and looking at the older.

"could be kang youngsoo too."

"could be anybody."

yeosang nodded knowing that there are many people all over the world with initials k.ys and it could be anyone.

a bubble of excitement burst within him knowing that he would be able to meet his soulmate soon. sure, he never believed in these theories but now that his own imprint has appeared he wanted to see how his soulmate was.

"why are walking so fast? wait for me san."

he shouted but the younger was too engrossed in his own world to notice while the older tried catching up to him.

"are you even listening to me?"

"no."
