The Tired Teach

Takes place after chapter seven and before chapter eight.

Byleth didn't get much sleep last night.

She was helping everyone work until it was late enough.

Thankfully though, she didn't have class today so she spent her time sitting down in the knight's hall.

She tried to not fall asleep even though there was no reason to stay awake since there wasn't anyone in the room anyways...

Still, she wouldn't allow herself to despite that for some reason.

She then heard some footsteps from behind so she slightly titled her head to where they came from.

It was from Claude.

"Aw you caught me Teach." Claude laughed.

"Were you going to sneak up on me again?" Byleth played along.

"Perhaps." Claude teased.

He had the genuine smile on his face which made Byleth feel happy.

Claude shrugged it off. "So what'cha doin Teach?"

Byleth just turned her head away from him. "Nothing much really. I'm just relaxing a bit."

Claude did his provoking, noble tone of voice. "Would her teachiness mind if I sat next to her on that bench for a short while?"

Byleth sighed but nodded. "As Long as you never talk like that ever again..."

Claude chuckled and sat next to her on the bench.

"That voice sounded like Lorenz, right teach?"

Byleth rolled her eyes once again.

Claude laughed at that reaction.

Byleth felt her eyelids getting heavier now. She was really hesitating to stay awake.

She was just so exhausted and tired.

Claude noticed that she looked quite off. "Teach? Are yo- Woah!"

She suddenly fell asleep and unintentionally laid her head on Claude's shoulder when she did fall asleep.

Claude was...not sure what to say about that.

It was certainly unexpected...

And rather random...

"...zzzz...zzzz.."

"Teach are you... what?! Um..are you asleep?"

Byleth couldn't reply to that question obviously. How could she when she was asleep?

Claude tried to gently wake her up. "Um...Teach?"

"....zzz...zzzzz.." Byleth remained asleep.

Claude continued to try and wake her up but unfortunately he was unsuccessful.

He sighed to himself. "It's no good...Teach is out like a light."

He tilted his head up despite Byleth's sleepy head still lying on his shoulder. He sighed again. "Well...man what do I do?"

He had a puzzled expression.

Her head was surprisingly a heavy weight on his shoulder.

"What do I do? What do I do?" Claude scratched his head as he nervously thought to himself.

Byleth slightly moved her head which made Claude relieved.

"Is she awake?"

Her eyes didn't even flutter which made Claude sigh.
